Hill Start Assist works the same way as other cars but not as described in the handbook.

Please clarify.. Lotus "Hill Assist" does not hold indefinitely like "other cars" (i.e. Porsche)... Porsche Hill Hold, maintains the brakes until you press on the throttle... So you can have your feet on the Clutch and the Throttle at the ready for an "~ infinite" length of time....

l can’t comment on other cars but from that point of view the Emira handbook is correct. The Emira does hold for about 2 seconds.

Which is enough time for me as I normally wait at the lights in neutral and select first when the opposite lights change to amber and red.

With Ian Cook today of popbangcolour.com. He is doing one of his #continuouscar drawings as part of his “driven in driven out“ series. He has previously drawn my Elise and both my Elans so this will be the fourth to complete the set. Russell Carr kindly signed a blank pad when I picked the car up from the factory and Ian is making the drawing on that. I have Peter Stevens signature on my M100 drawing and Julian Thomson‘s signature on my Elise drawing, so this will complete the set.

The creative process was live-streamed on Ian‘s popbangcolour instagram account.

At the risk of there being too many Magma images here (can that ever be the case?) Elliot who did the PPF and ceramic coatings has sent me the photos he took in his studio once he had finished. Just goes to show how complex Magma is under different lighting conditions.

:ROFLMAO: Well he does offer an optional check up after a month to make sure it’s all settled down and no edges lifted so I will raise that with him!

It looks ace. I've ordered the same exterior spec. as you and it looks every bit as good as I'd hoped.

WOW!! Brilliant!

Were the black front intake sections also covered in PPF or just ceramic?

Just Beautiful... 🤩

I’m not sure. I will have to check and get back to you. I suspect they are PPF though given where they are. The headlights are also PPF so pretty much everything at the front is covered.

I have had a look and I dont think there is PPF on those black bits but there may be as it’s been fitted so well! However, those black bits are just black plastic so there is no paint to protect there.

Went to connect up the CTEK into the boot earlier today and discovered something new.
Car was locked in the garage and a single quick press on the boot (rear trunk) button brings on the interior lights, the front and rear running lights and unlocks the fuel filler cap. Doesn’t unlock the car. Press and hold of course opens the boot.
Will have to try it in daylight to see if the lights still come on.
In practice not sure what this could be used for? Find me in a dark car park?

In locations with full service fuel stations, it would allow you to lock the car and then unlock the fuel filler cap for the attendant, who could fill the car with fuel while you go inside for snacks....?

I'm just trying to figure this one out myself, that's the best I could come up with.

Been a while since I posted anything in here.
Just coming up on 1500 miles. Mostly in rubbish weather conditions.
Went back to DetailyourEyeCandy last week for a check over of the PPF. In the rain. All looks good but Elliot took the opportunity to trim a few edges that he wasn’t happy with (but looked fine to me).
He also pointed out a mark on the PPF at the front next to the headlight where he says a reasonable sized rock must have bounced off the front. Apparently it has marked the top layer of the PPF (there are 3 layers) but the paintwork is fine underneath. I asked and he said it would be easy to just replace that one PPF panel if I wanted to but maybe wait until the end of the summer and take a view then. Without PPF I would probably been looking a quite a paint chip.

A few other things I have noticed.
The cup holder easily copes with a standard size McDonalds coffee cup without being in the way. I know others have expressed concern about it being in the way of the gearshift but they must be drinking litre sized milk shakes. ;)

One nice touch, if you slide (not click) your finger from mid to bottom on the volume slider, it immediately mutes the audio. Useful if you want to turn it down quickly. Sliding up increases volume in increments (again no clicking).

It’s surprising how little HP you are using when you are at steady speed. At 70 mph on the motorway I was using hardly any, and as I was going easy due to the weather conditions to see Elliot I averaged over 30mpg on a 260 mile trip. Must try harder!
