I'm thinking of doing this - I'm pretty happy/confident in doing the work

But, for those that have done it - any regrets?
Does stuff fall in the mechanism and is it easy to get out?
Any other knock on effects? Extra rattles?
Would you do it again?

Has anyone reversed it and gone back to stock, and if so, why?

Thanks for your help!

im biased since i sell the boot deletes but it makes the interior look SO MUCH BETTER. absolutely nothing falls in there unless you are shifting with breadcrumbs in your hands.

Ha! Thanks - yes I had planned on using your delete - may even wait for the larger gear knob to become available and order together to save on shipping costs to the UK - thank you

I'm still happy with the floating console. I've never dropped anything in there or anything. I made sure to tell my kids not to stick their fingers in there.

I heard that Flight 19 (five TBF Avengers) were lost with 14 airmen in the floating console void. And later the same day a PBM Mariner sent in to find them was lost with all 13 aircrew.

Although... I may be getting this mixed up with something else....

@SX 10TUS , I've done this mod, and am super glad I did... it is 100% my cup of tea. The next step I need to get around to is fitting the OEM tray from the automatic under the shifter.

If we manage to arrange another south-England meet up soon, you're welcome to eyeball it in person / try dropping objects into it / transmit signals to aliens through it / whatever.
