More Reports of Emira Hybrid

Apologies if this article has been posted before as it is over a week old but I didn't find it posted here.

Stupid, click bait headline : "Lotus Emira no longer marked for death" and the article is almost devoid of any facts.

They mention a possible AMG V6 engine as an option - this sounds like pure speculation to me. Although we could fantasize about AMG's V6 PU106B engine, the only V6 AMG have in current production as far as I can tell.

Look what they did to the Eletre, its heavier than its EV counterpart. Looking at Lotus latest (stupid) decisions, they will make it a plug in hybrid with a 30kw batterie rather than a mild hybrid…
That’ll be disappointing.

Nobody here wants a heavier car. Few if any here believe a hybrid wouldn't [significantly] heavier.

Where I diverge from you-all: I'd _love_ an all-electric Emira as long as it has comparable looks, performance, and price. It is completely possible with current technology (see SC-01 etc), but with the latest solid state batteries out of China, it could be even lighter than the current ICE variant.
Interesting, not wrong but interesting and makes me wonder how may others think or feel that way. I’m not there yet and still prefer the sounds and mechanical aspects of ICE. The idea of a mild hybrid is only hypothetically acceptable if regulation mandates require it.
However i remain open minded about all forms of sports cars in the future.
