Ok, will try it again soon with the decat. The car did feel really fast when I first did all the mods and had the decat fitted. But throttle response with decat is so much better than sports cat

my K20/24 Elise had decat and straight pipe, damn that thing was crazy and STINKY lol - only reason I am haven't put decat on the EmiraOk, will try it again soon with the decat. The car did feel really fast when I first did all the mods and had the decat fitted.
That sounds great, looking forward to meeting up and hearing it in person!!Wait until you do a de-cat for the i4!![]()
Would love to hear this combo also!Im thinking of going the Mach 5 downpipe with milltek valve controller. From what I've read this is going to impact the sounds the most. Im not looking for straight pipe as too loud for me and I want to retain ability to change valves to OE when parking at home. Was wondering if anyone has a video or sound clip or the downpipe and valve controller (fully open) combo?
I have mach5 downpipe and valve controller with mach5 exhaust muffler (not the straight pipe one) that I can try to record on my iPhoneIm thinking of going the Mach 5 downpipe with milltek valve controller. Would love to hear what the i4 sounds like with this particular exhaust and downpipeI have mach5 downpipe and valve controller with mach5 exhaust muffler (not the straight pipe one) that I can try to record on my iPhone
I thought I'd post some video samples...taken with my phone so the mic and sounds are very subpar. And try and listen with headphones if you can. What is not coming across is the volume and impact of the sound, hard to capture on a phone - it's just way louder than whatever you are listening to when you watch these shrots. It's just my Lotus tech driving the car to hear what it sounds like from the outside. It's probably the best this I4 system will sound like in the platform. I am running an Aerie sports cat/downpipe with the Mach5 straight pipe race exhaust. I tried recording inside the car while driving using Meta glasses but the sound is clipping the volume on full throttle is clipping the mics...will try on a GoPro with actual mics.
That is exactly what I got...replied to DM with more infoHi Kaz! Wanting to go your route and was wondering if the Aerie sports cat/downpipe you're running in conjunction with the Mach 5 exhaust is what Aerie has listed as their 'front pipe' here? https://aerieperformance.com/produc...orts-catalyst-front-pipe-by-aerie-performance
TIA!
This is exact setup im thinking right now so would appreciate some clipsI have mach5 downpipe and valve controller with mach5 exhaust muffler (not the straight pipe one) that I can try to record on my iPhone
I've got this setup and would highly recommend. I've tried to take a couple vids but it doesn't capture it very well. Sounds way better in personThis is exact setup im thinking right now so would appreciate some clips
When trying to record, I had to set my phone to the direct side of the car when stationary to capture it correctly. Maybe try that.I've got this setup and would highly recommend. I've tried to take a couple vids but it doesn't capture it very well. Sounds way better in person
Any CELs from the Mach 5 downpipe at all? I was DMing with Kaz and was originally going to get the Aerie downpipe + Mach 5 race exhaust like he has, but changed my mind last minute and went with the Mach 5 downpipe + Mach 5 race exhaust instead...hoping I made the right choice lol. Seems from this thread that @Milk242 did not have any downpipe related CELs from his but wasn't sure what others' experiences were.I've got this setup and would highly recommend. No CELS as yet for me with the valved mach 5 system with catted downpipe. Fingers crossedAny CELs from the Mach 5 downpipe at all? Awesome, thank you and that's good to hear! I'll certainly be adding my experience as a data point hopefully in the next week or two.No CELS as yet for me with the valved mach 5 system with catted downpipe. Fingers crossed
Yup you were definitely a no-CEL data point for me with the Mach 5 dp lol. Originally I was inclined to go for the Aerie dp (cheaper) but the convenience of ordering both the dp and exhaust from one place + the feedback from other Mach 5 owners was my last minute deciding factor.I have 4000 miles now on my setup, no CEL reported from my obd2 scanner and haven’t seen a check engine light. Only one was from when my valve controller blew a fuse. Replaced fuse and switched my mach5 valve controller for milltek v2 and been error free since.
I do rarely get boost sensor related errors, but that’s probably from my jb4.
I expect they would all sound fairly similar since they are all 300 cell catsDoes anyone have any experience with the Aerie vs GRP vs Mach 5 downpipe and know if there will be a substantial difference in sound?
I know only Mach 5 has no CEL but GRP offers a cheaper option with O2 spacers if same result.
