Let's talk about the Emira's seats...

Thanks for the update. Can you reserve a set of the bare carbon seats + hardware/panels to be shipped out to VDK? I will ask Jan to reach out to you in the new year when everyone is back from holidays.
I can’t reserve any seats. I’m semi retired now, I’m now banned from the historical “interfering Steve production disruption”.
The office needs to have an official order emailed to them to reserve a production spot. They are back in the New Year and you can contact them by emailing customerservice@tillett.co.uk
I know VDK have placed an initial order so it may be possible to get them to add to it.

Van Der Kooi Sportscars have managed to cancel the airbag lights using resistors. They have given me guidance on how to do this but I must admit I've still not done this myself yet and when it comes to electrics and deleting airbags we do not advise.
Hi Steve, could you share what kind of resistors are used and which pins should I connect?

I will do with pleasure once I’m certain of what I am saying. I have put the recommended resistors in the recommended pin holes but the car needs a reset which I will get done when it goes into the dealer for its first service soon.

Steve I don't suppose you know where I could source a standard set of Ice Grey seats for an Emira from?

I have noticed as well the headrests are very bulky. And are digging into my shoulders. As some others on the forum have indicated.

So I saw this pic on the forum already, and I am going to explore having my interior guy reduce the size of the padding, so it is more like what Porsche does. The black alcantara pic here is a good idea of what reducing the headrest will look like. Looks good to me. Will do in the spring.

I also want to do the Team Lotus seat badges if anyone ever makes them....

I can remember when they were doing the prelaunch media snippets on the emira and one was on the seats. They promised 'something very special' when it came to the seats and yet they're probably the biggest area of common complaint (not taking paint blistering into account as thats a defect whereas the seats are working 'as designed'). They're definately a comfort orientated seat and have no place in anything wanting to be a sports car, total lack of bolstering to the sides and the hips means you just slide around and have to use the transmission tunnel to bolster yourself via your knees.

Agreed … I did a cross country road trip and the seats were generally comfortable. I should also add they are attractive as well. On my first track event, my hips were sliding from side to side as I tried using my left leg to stabilize and minimize movement.
P.S. my previous ride was a Boxster Spyder with Sport seats which were very snug on the turns

I test drove the leather ones and found I slid around in those a lot - I didn't in the Alcantara ones. I was also told by the dealership that the Alcantara seat bases are a little lower (not sure how true that is).

I drove the brown Nappa and alcantara back-to-back and they seemed the same; And I barely fit so if were even 1/2", I feel like I would notice.

On a somewhat related note. Has anyone figured out a workaround for the seat belt and airbag sensors on the passenger seats for the North American/Federal Chasis Cars? And before someone chimes in, the jubu solution offering does not work for US cars. I feel like there's about a dozen of us waiting for this problem to be solved before ordering the Tillets.

There's a NEW Jubu solution currently in testing that is for NA passenger occupancy seats, I have emailed them about it and they estimate it will be available in Spring 2026.

Looking forward to it. Curious how they got a hold of NA seats and an NA car? I'm skeptical, but rooting for them at the same time! Thanks for the update @kitkat !

Usually, a resistor does it for the airbag. No one has tried that?

a digital signal goes straight into the SRS module and that hasn't been figured out...Greg has tried many different approaches, Inokinetic also trying to solve it - the shop I use has a way to replicate those digital signals they just been busy racing and haven't had time
