Figured might as well do it right the first time. In my Alfa 4C, went with KW 2-ways as an early adopter when they were first released. More coilover development happened over the next years making me FOMO. Lol.

So decided to just do it right the first time with the Emira. The Emria stock bodyroll is not what I’m used to coming from CF monocoque and squat square stance in my 4C. Some might consider this overkill but dont want to shouldve/couldve/wouldve now or in the future. :)

Ordering process:
1. Contacted the great folks at Jubu, order submitted, invoice received and money wire information provided.
2. Wired money through my bank (bank rep made sure not phone scam situation that is common here in US with iPhone/Norton antivirus/ebay scams)
3. Took about 4 weeks to build coilovers to spec. I went with Sport and Trackday setup with -15mm drop options.
4. Shipped via UPS. Okay, FYI, so for any import shipment over $2500, US Customs requires “Formal Entry” which requires submission of social security number or tax ID number of receiver. i received an email from UPS shipping broker stating US Customs requires SSN or TID and shipment will be held up until this information is provided. Now with ID theft rampant and common here in the US, i wasnt about to reply to that email with my SSN. First UPs customer service rep i called had no clue what that email was about. Second UPS rep i called a day later said she would message the broker company to call me. When UPS shipping broker called, I was still a little anxious giving my SSN to a complete stranger. But the original email and the subsequent phone call from the UPS shipping broker did include an attached invoice with explicit order, shipping to and from, waybill tracking number, product description and declared value amount which helped ease my anxiety a bit. So the email was legit for those who plan to import and clear US Customs. Update status of Customs Clearance on UPS tracking changed within an hour of that call releasing it from Customs.
5. Then came the email from UPS about import tax due prior to final delivery. Ok, i did my part supporting the US government and paid this 10% import tax. But….brutal. $800. Oh well. Pay to play i guess….i mean i was expecting it before ordering.
6. But overall, very happy with the Jubu experience but just wanted to share my experiences with the process for others. :)
7. i will install these in the next few weeks when i have some time, according to the Service Manual, seems very straight forward. Then will get alignment. Exciting!

Look forward to hearing your impressions on ride and handling once installed. These do look amazing!
