I’ve purchased some custom wheels from aerie, about a month ago (Oct 16 to be exact). I ordered new tires, and they’re here, but the wheels are not. I’ve emailed them about the progress of the wheels, and they mention they’re hung up on center caps. I told them that my tires are here, and if they can ship the wheels without the center cap for the time being. That was a couple of days ago, and I have no response.

Now I’m getting worried, as I’ve heard nothing from Jason Fung and I emailed him on Monday… the communication is just slow, and fairly tedious. What are your experiences with Aerie wheels?

While I have not purchased Aerie wheels, I did buy a lot of Aerie CF pieces. It took some time for everything to arrive, but Jason delivered. He responds much better via WhatsApp, I would give that a try.

Yeah I’ve purchased wheels from them before. Before placing the order, Aerie provided really good customer service and answered all my questions etc. Once I placed my order, customer service fell off of a cliff. Had to reach out several times to even get a response. The wheels took weeks longer than I was told when I placed the order even after choosing air shipping.

To top it off, one of the wheels wasn’t fully painted on the inner barrel when I got the darn wheels. You get what you pay for I suppose

That’s like the experience I have. Unfortunately, nobody else makes these wheels… how are you wheels? I’m at just over a month since I placed the order. Is it just the painting? If that’s it, then getting them powder coated myself is t terrible.

I actually sold the wheels as I sold the car they were on so I’m not sure how they are holding up.

For the paint, it just looks like a part of the inner barrel was slightly missed and I could see the primer a bit.

Sorry Finbarqs

We have checked with the factory, and your wheels are ready. We will take pictures for you tomorrow and arrange for shipment shortly thereafter, as mentioned in our previous email, the extension design wheel caps are sourced from an external factory, which is why the timeframe is standard.
P.S for a set of forged wheel if order at HRE would be 3 months.

And i had to apologize because we can't send you the wheels first and the cap on second as you requested on the last emai because we need to test fit the extension wheel caps to ensure a perfect fit before sending them out.

Thank you for your understanding.

All of our lightweight alloy forged wheels have had the inner barrel fully printed. We can assure you that this will be implemented for all future new wheels for our customers.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have a set of their wheels. They took way longer than expected to ship mine. Then when they were ready to ship they tried to charge me hundreds of dollars more for shipping because the production delays caused shipping prices to increase. I was not impressed by their timeliness, customer service, or the quality of the powder coating.

We need to communicate the situation clearly to ALL customers.

We typically charge additional shipping costs when customers request upgrades to their delivery service. In this case, the customer ordered wheels using FBA shipping, which has a longer delivery timeframe of 21 days. He expressed a desire to upgrade to UPS delivery, which would incur a significant cost difference.

Since he wished to change the shipping method, we informed him of the additional costs associated with this request. However, he ultimately decided not to pay the extra fee, so we need to address this situation.

Regarding the wheels, we are experiencing delays due to the national holiday, which has extended the delivery timeframe. We have now sent the packages via UPS, and we will cover more than $500 the shipping costs.

We had uploaded the video with your wheels inner barrel please check for your reference, those wheels are full printed.

I bought a set of V2 in Champagne Gold from Aerie one year ago. Delivery took almost two months to Spain. It was a little more than expected, but the follow up from Jason @Aerie was top.
Yes, different timelines depending on the carrier, since I bought a bunch of pieces from Aerie, and different delivery prices.
My suggestion is expect 2-3 months for delivery on normal carrier, or if you really need it, pay some extra for fast delivery, 3-4 weeks for Spain, maybe different for the US.

I have to say I am delighted with the quality of all the products I bought from Aerie, the wheels look to me the best mod I made in the car of all.

Jason is very responsive via WhatsApp! He did send me a video of one of the wheels and looks to be fully painted! Can’t wait to get these, and protect my OE wheels!!!

My tires are just sitting at America’s tire waiting to be installed. (YOKOHAMA ADVAN NEOVA AD09)

I agree. You should communicate clearly to all customers.

What you have stated above is not the case for my order and I have the email transcripts and order confirmation as evidence.

Aerie quotes 21 working days from production to shipment. It took several weeks longer. No proactive communication about any national holiday that would impact my order until I reached out about the delay. My order confirmation also clearly shows that I did opt for UPS shipping when I paid. You then contacted me and said that the delay has resulted in seasonal increases in shipping costs and that I then needed to pay more than double the originally agreed rate if I still wanted to use UPS or I could opt for the cheaper longer route. National holidays aren’t surprises, expected delays should be communicated proactively. I also asked multiple times for a refund and to cancel the order after the delays and the attempted price hike and they persisted that the wheels were coming, never said when, and told me to be patient.

When the wheels finally arrived I only received 2 of them and the status of the delivery tracking showed as complete and delivered, leaving me worried that somehow the other two wheels were lost in transit. Luckily they arrived the next day.

Overall this experience has left me less than enthusiastic about doing business with Aerie again. They should update their shipping timelines to reflect known seasonal delays due to holidays, etc. other vendors do this and it goes a long way in managing customer expectations.

I'm sorry that's been your experience. I've got one set of Aerie wheels. They look fantastic and the shipping was fast. There are no blemishes in the powdercoat, and they sent out yellow emblems as asked after the wheels came with black and gold.

The owner is busy and can take a day or two to respond but everything else has been good. I've got their wheels, full titanium exhaust, and their carbon bits all over my car at this point. I'm more than happy with the product.

I had them build a custom set of wheels based on a few photos and a sketch I had made, and they did a great job. It took longer than normal but that was because this was a design they'd never made before. They fit perfectly, the finish is excellent, and even though they aren't ceramic coated, they clean easily. I also bought their titanium muffler which shipped within a few weeks, and I'm thinking of also getting a titanium y-pipe.

Yes their delivery takes longer than normal because of overseas shipping and having to go through customs, but the stuff I've received has been worth the wait.

I’ve ordered 2 sets of wheels from them. Production time each time was about 4-6 weeks before delivery. I would set the expectation that delivery times may vary with where you are based as Jason is based out of Asia. Shipping larger and heavier items can really vary in time based on where you are located. If you are ordering custom designed wheels, expect the process and manufacturing time to be even longer.

I also found Jason to be very communicative on WhatsApp.

Quality-wise I found both sets of wheels to be well manufactured and the paint finish (bronze and champagne gold) was excellent.

My advice would to be a bit more patient as the wheels are really worth waiting for.

It’s Good to hear some positive experiences from others. The delay wouldn’t have been the end of the world, It sounds like most of you experienced that, although it’s silly, why not just post a more realistic timeframe on your website? But anyway, the thing that put me over was the attempt to upcharge on shipping after the delay. I might have missed it but I didn’t see anywhere any disclaimers that shipping could double in price from what was agreed at the time of purchase. To me that’s a bit nuts. Others who read this might be fine with that kind of gamble. Maybe it doesn’t happen that often I don’t know.

I just thought of something funny…perhaps somewhat true. Most Lotus Emira owners are probably a lot more patient than the me, or the average Joe. Considering how long most of you waited for your cars 😂. I lucked into mine this summer and gave it a home after it was orphaned by whoever originally ordered it.
