JUBU and other topics, a combo thread

Have you done 3rd cat delete yet?

I’m no expert, but it doesn’t seem like big power is coming from swapping catback on this car.

The damn exhaust manifolds are the problem.

But 3rd cat delete is easy money for sound and power.
Yea .. GRP delete. Absolutely money well spent. I’m definitely targeting the Aerie headers and will probably purchase right after I get my initial JUBU parts. Headers plus 3rd cat/exhaust on the Emira seems to be producing the F1 sound that you hear in the Valvetronic videos. Sounds ridiculously good. And since I run stock on valve controller, I wont annoy everyone on the road. Just F1 when I go WOT at high rpm. Those are my thoughts on that.

if I recall correctly, I think @Eagle7 thinks exhaust is holding back flow….

That said, exhaust is not at the top of my list.. may or may not upgrade.

EDIT: The JUBU header looks super nice but at $2400 insulated… thats before taxes, shipping, tariff… I had to look at alternatives like the Aerie piece.

This ^
What you don't like oem camry/rav4 un-even length headers? LOL

Catless headers will be the most gain for the exhaust + 3rd cat delete. If you want to keep a cat for emissions or smell, any exhaust shop can weld in one of these near where the original 3rd cat was without being a restriction (#85032) https://www.gsportbygesi.com/g-sport-emissions-systems-products

Muffler options off the top of my head include valvetronic or Larini, but you won't see gains in power really, just a bit more exotic sound.

I'd personally pay the ~$600 premium with Greg over Aerie for headers + mid pipe, because if you do have an issue he will fix it.

Here are 2 videos of my set up. I still need to get a driving one inside the car for anyone interested. I have the JUBU headers and Y pipe and the high flow cat which goes at the 3rd cat area. I had the Milltek delete and with this set up I’m back to just 1 cat. I do have the Milltek exhaust so it’s not on the stock one. I absolutely love the sound. My values stays open 100% of the time no need to do OEM or close it. It’s gets F1 exotic sounding right at 5k and above.

If this is the Ti exhaust, I recommend cancelling the order or atleast being aware of the risks. There's 4 or 5 known instances of the muffler area exploding (in the same location on every one) and the most recent one (2 weeks ago) nearly burnt down an Evora because of it.
source? I'm sure @Aerie would like to comment on this

it’s true, and aerie has revised the design since the failures, at least once (v2).

Idk if any v2 have failed.

I don’t have any personal experience w the part

It is definitely documented v6 cases where the exhaust had a catastrophic failure. Now, do we see that on the v2? No, perhaps not. But I'm not rolling those dice.

To be clear, all posted pics were related to Evora GT exhausts. This may or may not make a difference. However, all Emira "v2" style to date have remained "in tact".

Preface: I definitely use some sarcasm on my posts and sometimes .. since it is the INTERNET, I have a happy little trigger finger. At the same time, I do like being direct and honest... I'm gonna chalk all this up as "I got them good, and they got me good." Time to move on...

To the point: Just wanted to stop in and give an update.

I was finally able to get in touch with JUBU. They just got back in from Summer vacation and they are a little swamped getting back in the swing of things.

I can be an impatient person with certain things in life, but given the cultural differences, I decided to bring the volume all the way down on that part of me for my interactions with JUBU. Europeans generally have a very different work-life balance and I'm trying to be mindful of that.

They did apologize for the late response (4 days). Honestly, it wasn't that bad.

I was looking to make a purchase for a little "parts haul." These are JUBU items that I wanted for a "first phase" installation, before I start the "Upgrading Power" phase. So, my discussions about the 440 and eventual 460 kit have been at a minimum.

The parts I purchased.. are in my signature... for those that want to take a look. I will try to post pictures and an update on shipping costs, tariffs, taxes.. etc. since these are coming from Austria and I'm sure some may be interested.

Regarding the Super B Andrena battery that I bought from Super B Andrena 12V25AH (JUBU recommended I purchase from a US supplier), it requires a mount kit. I've attached a pdf spec sheet for the battery. I was looking to purchase the mount kit from JUBU as well, but currently it is either out of stock or still in development. They assured me that they are working on it and will make it available to me as soon as possible. I was a little concerned about the 25AH part especially given that I have an aftermarket sound system running, but the spec sheet says it is equivalent to a 100 to 130AH lead acid. From my understanding, the stock battery is around 70AH. These Super B batteries are also "designed for motorsports applications" and "Designed for use in DTM, Group C, WRC, BTCC, NASCAR, LMS, GT's, GT Endurance, Dakar Rally Raid, Britsports, ALMS, and 4x4 vehicles." I'm not a spokesperson.. just a naive enthusiastic buyer.

I'll update again when appropriate.

UPDATE: Regarding installation instructions, it looks like each item sold by JUBU has a downloadable pdf at the bottom of their respective pages. I don't know when that was updated but it is there.

I went back to the site, yes you are correct .. there seem to be parts that do not have instructions on the page. All the parts I purchased, did have instructions. My guess is, they either haven't gotten around to those or they have some reason for it. For me, it's not a big deal but if you're having issues with it, request it or post your experience in this thread.
