JUBU and other topics, a combo thread

Yea I’m the one that started the group buy for JUBU and there were a few people that had bad experiences but I think it amazing that a few bad experience and you have people saying the JUBU people need a support group lol. This shit is funny to see how people come out the woods to hate on a company they just “heard” something about and it’s all bad.

There are people who have had a bad experience with other venders on this forum I won’t name them but it’s over looked bc hey they sell cheaper parts and no one going to really complain if it’s not that expensive.

Plenty of people have had a great experience and they did make it right for everyone including the people still complaining.

Some people on here are clowns idk how to say it nicely anymore. The same ones that argued that the Emira was fast enough bc the only power upgrade options were above their budget or what they wanted to spend. Then JB4 comes out and everyone and their mother jumping on it impatient for deliveries. Can’t make this shit up it’s facts that we have all witnessed. Unless you’re one of the clowns that is and then you won’t really see much other than your own opinion.

That said, JUBU communication sometimes is not the best like that example above but that’s not to say they don’t have a reason. Also emails can come off as abrasive with them bc their English isn’t the best. I noticed this as when they were in person still English isn’t their best but you can tell the genuine behind the words. Hard to explain but hopefully you get my point. They share what they want, It’s their business. I’ve meet these guys in person and they are humble great people. Like I said they drive normal cars low cost family cars no joke! They are not “taking people for their money” they are not rich. They run a business doing what they love to do and they have family’s they want to provide for and pass down the business. Including they are not willing to cover certain cost bc it comes out of their profit.

Forums are full of ignorant people. Money doesn’t buy skill or practical education.

JUBU makes the best parts for our cars hands down. The quality and craftsmanship is second to none. Buy some and see for yourself or don’t and keep complaining.

I think we also had an engine failure on one of the Jubu US tour Syvecs installs.

He just installed a new motor.

I wish Jubu was a more trustworthy specialist for me because I theoretically like a lot of their products but I keep talking to more jubu customers and they tell me to stay the hell away.

Highly doubt this is JUBU ECU alone to blame. We know these are not strong platforms or depending on what day of the week you ask that question on this forum.

But good thing it was a new ECU not a piggy back bc they replaced it under warranty is my guess.

I guess will see what happens with other tunes that add more PSI if that will be an issue or not but then again motors have gone with no tuning.

I don't know if your post was directed at me... But I am one of the most knowledgeable people on this forum (and probably the whole Lotus community) on the Lotus V6 cars.

Marc (Frankenstein Motorworks), Merry Frankster, and Peter Zeeile are likely the most knowledgeable people on the planet about the 2GR and its variations (more so than Toyota's own engineers) and I talk to at least one of them nearly daily. The 2GR is an extremely strong platform, the EA60 is capable, and the U660E has some issues but can be addressed up to a point.

I own JUBU products, I've seen many of their products that I don't own, and I have experience with non-JUBU products as well. They're not "second to none" by any means. I will give credit where it is due that their Aero is very very impressive and well designed for a street car.

As I've already called out details on why MANY of their performance parts are not "the best parts." I also call out Mat Wilson's VF claims all over facebook, and mention MWRs markups on oem toyota parts from other engines or their rocker claims. Komotech stays off the radar mostly because they don't push boundaries, compete in Lotus Cup and ACTUALLY have a partnership with Lotus. But even they have some non-sense, particularly about the automatics and their air intake. I've also called our some things about Greg's products (mainly intake and splitters). It's not JUBU hate, it's actually analyzing products, performance, and company communication/customer service. EDIT: also forgot to put AERIE on the list for exploding exhausts, inaccurate timelines for wheels/CF, etc.

Thankfully I've got no skin in this game -- I just know what happened to this specific instance. Unfortunately your assumptions about the situation are incorrect. If the owner wants to come forward and provide details they can, that's not my place to do so.
