We have finalized the design and are in production with our new Emira harness bar the QUADloc. This bar is the most innovative solution available offering easier fitment, adjustability for driver size, light-weight, full access to the rear shelf and most importantly a safe package for the weekend warrior. We created this info sheet to provide a bit more insight into the QUADloc design.

The two main attachment points, for the QUADloc, bolt our bar into the factory rollbar. This is the same location that the stock OE 3pt belt uses - so is safe and crash tested. The B-pillar is essentially this rollbar. Anti-rotation is critical in a design like this. We are using 4 points to prevent our bar from rotating - hence the name, QUADloc.

Our Primary Anti-rotation Mechanism, non-permanently, secures to the B-pillar and is bolted to the QUADloc with a 1/2" bolt. This mechanism are two large Delrin rods that uses a cam action to help you fine-tune the fit to the B-pillar. Our Primary Mechanism is enough to prevent rotation but we've added a clever Secondary Mechanism. We are utilizing the rear car seat anchor points to tether our QUADloc with additional anti-rotation. We don't know of anyone who has used these anchors in this manner. The Emira has an ambidextrous chassis so they put these car seat anchors on both sides of the car onto the rear firewall. These are crash tested and designed to take significant loads. We use both sides.

Installation can be a challenge with fixed bars so our internally-sleeved, split design offers an easier install. We think this will save plenty of you from a potentially frustrating installation. The bar will ship easily and cost effectively as the box is much smaller.

Our bar is also height adjustable. This is important as we all have different torso lengths. Not all of us are average so adjustability keeps us safer. Getting the correct angle is critical from a safety perspective. See Schroth's recommendation.

We spent a fair amount of time analyzing and peer reviewing our solution. Though we have engineered many other harness bars, we recruited two other Mechanical Engineers, Schroth's US distributor and several Emira owners to review this bar for safety and functionality. Everyone is happy with the design and feel it is an appropriately safe solution. Some called it over-engineered. ;) We know this bar deviates from the norm so the peer review added to our confidence in this solution.

We are running a sale on the bar until they come into stock - expected by early/mid Sept. We are producing the QUADloc here in Temecula, CA and weighs approx 10lbs. Order yours: HERE

Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. We feel this should be welcome to those of you looking for ways to have more fun with your Emira.

Direct message sent to @shinoo : I'm having a minor issue with your website.

Our initial batch are in production. We test fit these 4 bars and confirmed fitment. The remaining bars will be built. We should see finished parts by early/mid Sept. Order now and save $100: HERE

We are waiting for some additional straps and the initial orders will be shipping late this week. I will leave the $100 savings until Thurs eve...

Will try to install mine this coming weekend too! :)
Cool, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions with the installation instructions.

This pic really shows the availability of the rear shelf. Plus you can see both anti-rotation devices clearly.

@shinoo I can't get the delrin rods to NOT touch the rear quarter glass. Is this the way it should be, or maybe my car is narrower than yours???

The arc in red is where the rod is pushing against the glass, the yellow part will allow a piece of paper through the gap.

@shinoo One delrin rod is reverse-threaded - I am assuming this one is for the right side (Japan drivers side, US passenger side). Is this correct?
Also, what are the aluminum spacers for? Where do they go? OMG it just dawned on me - do they go between the B-pillar and the QUADloc bar?

Easy install, but as with any other work inside the cabin, probably better done in the cooler months... You will need towels, 13mm and 19mm sockets.

First, move both seats as far up as possible, and fold them forwards. Remove the seat belt anchor covers by tugging upwards. Remove seat belt anchors on both the driver and passenger sides with a 13mm socket.

Install the two black straps (included in the kit) to the upper anchors. Just clip on one end for now and let the other end dangle.

Wear protection when playing with new friends. I used a towel, but a pair of socks would have been easier to manage. The pipe with the inner tube (shown with the end wrapped in a towel) goes on the right hand side (Japan drivers side, US passenger side) of the car.

Join the two pipes and gently lift into the cabin. Use the black straps to hold the assembly up so you can let go and use both hands. Getting the second clip locked onto the anchor point may need some patience...

Re-assemble the seat belt anchor with the QUADloc bar and aluminum spacer (included in the kit). The aluminum spacer should be enough to hold the QUADloc bar away from the interior trim to avoid scratching. Don't torque it up yet, we will need some wiggling room.

Adjust the height of the QUADloc bar by tensioning the black straps so that your harness shoulder straps rest at an acceptable angle.

Attach the delrin rods (included in the kit) to the QUADloc bar inside the rear quarter windows. One of them is reverse threaded, and should go on the right hand side of the car. adjust and fix with a 19mm socket. Make sure the delrin rod does not push up against the window. Slide a piece of cardboard between to make sure.

Re-torque the seat belt anchor (45Nm), replace the cover, tidy up loose belts, and you're done!
