Insurance 3k

I’m £700 with AA, 10,000 miles (I only do 1500 max) but it seems to make little difference to the quote so just have a load of miles available. I’m in Kent

$2200 a year for my 2026 Emira V6SE. Full coverage including uninsured coverage, glass, 250/500k limits, $500 deductible. Kinda expensive imho but is what it is. State Farm fwiw. And as age is important here in the states 61.5 clean record amazingly.

Don't you guys need fire and theft coverage? Here in Italy it's close to mandatory if you have a nice car, you're risking too much (n) I also added coverage for weather events like hail or fallen trees (wind) and stuff. Oh, and legal coverage too. So bad :(

In the United States if you own the car all you need is liability to cover other people you may harm on the street. However you do need comprehensive coverage if you have a lease or a loan on the car as you are not the sole owner until that last payment. Here in America in that regard you have more control.

Fire, theft, hail, tree falling, that’s all typically covered in US policies under what’s referred to as “comprehensive”

Like a few here, my renewal is due next month. I havent got my renewal price yet but one thing I have noticed is that on a lot of the comparison sites they're tying to mark the value as being between 38-42k based on 'trade values'. I'm sorry but if you can get me a 3 year old emira FE V6 for 38k then show me where.

In the UK by law they have to provide a compensation that allows you to by a comparable car in the local area. Just get a couple of adverts off Autotrader for equivalent cars and they will need to match else you can take it to independent arbitration that they will need to pay for.

Admiral Gold are quoting me £980, but I have £42k written off Cayman against me.

As Geoffbland alluded to, to get actual payout they must pay out what it would cost for an equivalent car from a 'reputable dealer'. No trade prices, no cheapest on sale etc. I got an extra 20% payout by refusing the 1st offer and collating adverts for cars as close as possible to mine, excluding the outliers eg high/low.

I paid £1800 for the year, with my mrs on as well. But we are both 25. Original quote was £2800 however I used admiral multicar (on the phone) and we managed to get it down a lot.

My advice, start a quote for 4 weeks in the future. The quote comes in lower. Then call them up, say you want multicar etc, then say actually can we move the date to (correct date).

Original quote was £2800, did the above and it came to £2300, then multicar for it to £1800!

Not as cheap as others, but due to our age it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

**Edited**

Also we added 10k miles for the year as well.

I pay $894/year with excellent coverage. My 2013 LandCruiser is about $100 more and my Giulia QV and BMW iX are $1500 and $1300 respectively. So my Emira is my cheapest newer car to insure as crazy as that seems.

I have State Farm also, and pay just over $2300/yr. with the same limits and deductibles. 54yrs old and clean record.

Mine cost me £500 this year including legal and protected no claims. 3,00 miles. Renewal in August sounds as if it might be expensive!

That’s unbelievably inexpensive for a year! Who’s the insurer and what are your coverages out of curiosity? Again, I’m a 61 year old with a very clean record, bundle my insurance, 4-5 vehicles, house etc and I’m paying way more so I’m curious why yours is only $894 a year. I’m paying over double that in the rural area of north Georgia.🤔

Coverage is 250k/500k, full glass. Company is Hanover Insurance. Yeah, I can't really explain why it's that inexpensive. It's the highest priced car I own and the cheapest to insure. That said, I'm sure the Giulia is way more expensive to repair. Just the front splitter is $5,500 to replace on it. I'm 46 years old with a clean driving record. One speeding ticket in the last 20 years or so.

FWIW, I was shopping recently in Southern California and the best I got was Progressive for my '26 Turbo SE. 250k/500k and minus things like rental came out to about $1100/year. I'm 50 yo and clean driving record if that helps.

Used Grundy’s as a specialty car (no commuting, etc). The coverage is good for $1000/year with the restrictions on how you use the car.

My girlfriend is my State Farm agent. I think I'm locked in regardless. 😎

That’s my problem too. My wife’s sister is my SF agent so….🤔😩 But you other guys are getting some smoking deals in my opinion. I’m still gonna shop around just to see what other companies in my area will quote.
