Wow! This looks interesting. Any feedback from Berger on torque limits of drivetrain and tranny for V6?

Awesome to see more tuning options come to market. Does the user have the ability to make "mapping" or parameter changes within the tune?

Would you happen to know if they offer any Ethanol maps on the v6?

From previous experience with Evora's the 2GR and the trans is good/reliable up to about 500whp and around 440ft lbs.

These come pre-loaded with tunes but they have mentioned custom tuning can be done but that would only be available from them.
As things move on we hope to have a couple options like a stage 1 & 2 sort of thing for various mods on the two platforms.

oh I was looking just for this. whats the shipping time estimate if I order today?

Would it matter if you’ve done basic exhaust mods with a pre-loaded tune? V6 manual. Also, since it sounds like this would be seen by Lotus, would it void any warranty for motor/trans? Thanks

With these types of piggyback systems, the dealership would only see the modification if one leaves this intact when it goes into service. If the owner removes the module, the dealer would not see any modifications.

The piggyback system intercepts the signals from various sensors and modifies how the OE ECU interprets these signals. This is not hardcoding or flashing the ECU and thus not a permanent modification.

I should know for sure tomorrow but likely shipping next week.

No those mods won’t alter anything enough to worry about with the pre-loaded tunes.
If a dealer sees the kit installed, knows what it is and if they are sticklers they may make mention or note it in Lotus’ system and give a hard time about warranty.

100%. 👍🏻👍🏻

Sounds too good to be true.

Surely Lotus can see via the ECU the engine performance changing ?

The whole premise of the piggyback is that it cannot modify the actual mapping tables in the ecu. It relies on the hard coded mapping tables of the OE ECU to run the power train because it doesn't have any of its own.

What it effectively does is intercepts certain sensor signals, like MAF and or boost pressure, etc, which the ecu utilizes to calculate fuel flow rate to command injector pulse widths. Or it may modify knock logic to allow for more timing or change the bypass valve strategies for more boost. These are just examples.

So the JB4 intercepts what the ECU really sees, spoofs the signal so that the ECU will command more fueling or allowing more timing from Burger's tuning strategy. This is just the basic principles of piggybacks, I cannot say what BTs tuning strategies are or what they manipulate to accomplish the power gains.

Ordered! Excited to try it out. Little nervous of the install as I haven’t really messed with the car much. Any written instructions on how hard this will be to install?
