Emira I4 low engine oil

I got my vehicle today, and while driving home I noticed that the engine oil warning light intermittently illuminates when descending hills, then disappears shortly afterward. It appears the oil level is approximately 0.25 liters below the recommended amount. To avoid a 300-mile return trip to the dealership, I am considering adding the oil myself, but been unable to locate any specific guidance online.
Any tips would be greatly appretiated.

Its moderately simple, remove the plastic engine cover, the thing that stops you actually seeing the engine itself(the owners manual tells you how)
There is the obvious Oil filer cap/tube, so put oil in there
Replace Engine cover.
TBH, I would be concerned that the oil light is coming on, if it is saying it is only 0.25 litres below max. Mine has been down to 0.5 with no alerts at all, so would think you might have a dodgy sensor
