Finaly got the long awaited transmission and engine update for the I4. Since I got my 2024 2L AMG , the transmission and shifting was very rough, delayed in shifting and quite jerky at times. This update just came in couple of weeks ago to make the 2024 and 25 drive like the latest models as I was told. So far big difference in smooth shifting with no delays. I haven't tested the long press gear selection function instead of double tap. But it surly drives much better.
What is immediately noticeable is the quick upshifting in touring mode with little delay and smooth shifts. No jerkiness of the clutch. When cruising in spot mode, it will shift quickly to 7th gear doing 65mph. Possible downside, if you need to accelerate suddenly, may be better off downshifting with paddle shifter.
What amazes me is how a small company like Lotus can make available to public such a software enhancement in drivability of the vehicle. Much appreciated.
