Does the US version have OPF?

I had to google OPF (otto particulate filter). This is synonymous with GPF (glass particulate filter) and in the i4, there is no specific GPF like the v6 has.

But @Kaz changed his DP to the Aerie and his race shop think that because our i4 has such a huge honking cat, there is probably a GPF in the OEM cat. I have the GRP cat to install yet.

One thing you’ll have to let Mach5 know though is that the US model cats do not have the two DPS (differential pressure sensors) going to the cat so they will need to supply you with aluminum or stainless caps for these two ports.

And you should probably ask Mach5 what their recommendation is if you should throw a post cat O2 sensor code after install. The Aerie cat throws codes, dont know if the GRP one will yet. But Kaz and I have 90 degree bend sensor spacers to try to eliminate any post cat O 2 sensor codes.

Btw, when you message Mach5, ask them if they are working on an upgrade for the AMG w177 heat exchanger intercooler. They already have one for the AMG w176 system. I messaged them but never got a response.

What brand is your valve controller? Mach5 says specifically they no need to connect to obd2 so not sure if they meant there is no obd2 connector or if they just meant no need to connect

That OBD valve controller is not from Mach5, ask Ryan, he has the whole kit including a mounting plate for valve motor relocation.

Valve controller is for your cat-back muffler system, nothing to do with the Mach5 downpipe.

Yea I know, just saw they also sold a valve controller but they said theirs don’t connect to obd so was curious what brand you used as milltek also doesn’t connect to obd.

I got mine from Ryan when he installed my exhaust, could be one of his in-house products.

yeah it's not rocket science for the codes in region specific cars...either the replacement cat is high enough cell count that it is doing enough to be within range or its not - and the sensor extension is just far enough away to run cleaner without being too far away that the voltage reads too low and that itself will trigger a code. I assume you can just trial and error with 90 degree bend or mini-cat attachment until your car is happy. They are all the same, tube of metal with a more free flowing cat and some extensions for the sensors.

As far as I know, some of the cats, like mine, produced in China have a special layer of mineral on the inside of the cat so there is no need to mess with the sensors.
