Cracking noise - maybe from speaker?

Occasionally, I'll unlock the car, and open the door, and just as I open it, there is a single 'crack' noise. Sounds like from behind the driver's seat. It sounds like a spark went through the amplifier and caused a speaker to pop. I can't make it happen, and it does not always happen. Anyone else noticed this?

Seriously? This is a known issue? Is there a solution, or at least a known cause?

Normal, probably CAN noises waking up through amp/speakers

I think the leading hypothesis is some kind of grounding issue or air pressure. It’s annoying but not unique to your car.

Definitely sharper than air pressure. My first impression was some sort of static electric charge that gets grounded through the amp when I open the door.

It's the kind of thing I would expect a serious car company to address if it is a known issue. But I guess if you are teetering on insolvency, putting resources towards an issue that is not losing sales is a bad business choice.

Take a look at this thread from some time ago:

I have this - it's quite rare - heard it only a handful of times in 8 months.

You feel like somethings about to snap in the door opening mechanism - and you can't repeat it.

I get this too, and it was on a courtesy car.
Probably all cars with KEF do it, just some owners haven't noticed or put it down to something else.

Happens once in a blue moon, and then I remind myself it’s all part of being a lotus owner.

This just started happening to mine the past few days, after it sitting for 8 days. Makes me wonder if it’s battery related.

Still not every start. But 3x yesterday after never before (I’ve only had car a few weeks so small sample).

My car was at dealer 2 weeks ago and got 5 software updates. Clearly have t fixed this.

I wouldn’t be shocked if this was enough to lead to sub driver surround and/or voice coil spider failures. It’s clearly bouncing hard of xMax.

Not a happy speaker sound

Does anyone know how I can check/fix the “bad earth” aka grounding issue with the battery bracket? I’m wondering if that’s in play here. Right before I left for Europe, I had a random “loss of acceleration” warning and 4k redline, but no CEL. And it hasn’t come back.

Makes me think battery or ground/earth issues.

Again, this is all with latest software
