Clutch gone at 16,000 miles. Not covered by Lotus - Don't panic!

That was one quote from one dealer. I don't think the cost will be anywhere near that at competent independent shops. The cost of a 911 clutch replacement at any indy shop is about $5K (parts and labor), and they're notorious for their expense of maintenance.

More importantly, if you're using your Emira as a street car, the clutch is easily good for $100K miles or more.
Postscript: I called another dealer that’s the next closest to where I am, and the quote was nearly 5k lower.

I took mine to H.R. Owen at 14,000 miles, purely for an appraisal. They said they wouldn’t buy it because it needed a new clutch. I’m not sure how they tested it, but the biting point felt much higher afterwards.

I did several uphill pulls in sixth gear with no clutch slip, so I wasn’t convinced. I couldn’t justify spending £6,000 on a clutch at that mileage, so I sold the car for the same price I’d paid a year earlier.

Sorry people I loved the car and was the best thing i have spent money on in my life but the 6k clutch would have dented my memories of the car
