A fender badge in the colour, shape and position of a Ferrari badge just makes me think it's an obvious attempt of imitation and the owner wishes he had a Ferrari or is trying to fake one. Like wearing fake clothes with a designer label on. It's not a good look, and people will look down on you for doing it.
Rock the Lotus. There's no shame in owning one, and they're awesome as their own entity. The Toyota engine will be running long after the Ferrari engine has started giving grief. Use the money you've saved to put your children through college.
I enjoy the car for the drive. I've owned Miata's and loved them. I don't care that they get called the poor man's sports car or whatever. I hate that as a society it's become normalised to want to own expensive things, just because they are expensive.
Someone on this very forum said recently, and I quote "I wish the Emira was more expensive so it would be a bigger flex to own one". We're done for as a society if this is our mentality, and we'll never be truly happy.
