While I will give you credit for your confidence, I'll also point out that Lotus has released pictures. It's a sunroof.

Read the Lotus website. It is a removable panel. I know it looks like a sunroof in that photo, but it isn't.

Again, I commend you for your commitment. But it's clearly a sunroof from the picture. Perhaps you aren't looking at the picture of the top of the car from outside, or maybe we need to define what a sunroof is vs a targa top. Lotus is clear, it's a removable sunroof, or some might say, a panel. And to put final clarifying part to this, the Esprit never had a targa top, it had... a sunroof. I don't know why we're even going back and forth on this.

Looks like a removable paneled sunroof. A true removable roof typically describes a targa top or convertible. The photos that lotus posted show that they left the side pillars and it is basically just a rectangular cutout...similar to a sunroof.

Lots of speculation and analysis of details in this thread, but I’m not sure anything that was shown on this webpage can be trusted. It looks like a page that was never for public consumption. The lead image is clearly AI, the badge was gibberish writing. The same images were repeated over and over as placeholder. It says coming 2026 but the 2027 order books are already open and advertised no changes. There’s an “R” logo on the front of these images, but there’s no "R" in the name Sport 420. This seems like a page an admin was staging with glorified Lorem Ipsum.

Make it a proper targa like my old 355 and I’d seriously consider it even with all the ADAS crap.

A removable sunroof seems like a rather half-arsed effort, although if it’s UK only I guess it’s irrelevant anyway.

Don't think so. I was told by a Lotus insider about a week ago that he had seen the "refresh concept," and it included a removable roof, but not much significant change beyond that.

I'm just doing this for my own entertainment at this point. A moonroof is a transparent sunroof. The word sunroof also includes a moonroof.

When I told my dealer about it he answered "mm yes, but do you actually like it?" like he saw it and didn't like it. I don't know, maybe this is just me misunderstanding his words, but...
