....and I wish I could buy you a beer!! Looking forward to your performance comments. It looks as if TDI instructions have you move ac compressor to get to that difficult sensor.🤔
Positive impression for me....installed today, flutter remains and big pssssh when coming off boost. I'm like a one man band driving around and loving it. This may also be placebo but I've noticed a positive up tick in throttle response. I'm going for the jb4!

help you with?
Hi,
Purchased this bov and excited to get it installed. Is the item dialed in from factory at correct setting or do I need to adjust screw for optimal performance.
Thanks
Ray
Hi Ray,
There is no adjustment to be done on that valve. The...
Spoke with lotus engineering about that.....very few turbo cars across the country are experiencing the casting sand in coolant. Those that have, however, are having a tough go of it.
Not sure if it's the turbo's exhaust note that's superior to the 6 or the myriad of other noises that come with it....waste gate, turbo flutter, bov, plus the exhaust whack you get on wot going through the gears.....a lot of theater imo.
excellent report of findings Doc! Curious how/if throttle response is improved? Have been looking for throttle controller but none exist for Emira. I'm assuming an intake will assist with that.
Right around break in, 1000k or so. A metallic sound, correct?....maybe there was a software update for that...lol. I'd go and push around the door card and adjacent panels.....make sure seat belt clip isn't banging around. I was getting a noise behind my head where headliner meets rear...
If I go with piggy, I believe I'll choose jb4....they've been great in the past. Side note.....I was doing full throttle runs in track mode last night and I can't believe the sounds coming from the blowoff valve and waste gate.....a piggyback and updated bov would make the turbo exceptional!
At beginning of video, payam states turbo makes 360....he then gets base of 387??? US cars are 400/354 so his hp stock reading is correct but torque way down....hope I'm not making this more confusing than it has to be.
Lol....everyone talks their book. Maybe enthusiasts shouldn't tell other enthusiasts on HOW to be an enthusiast! If you like to row your car, have at it. If you want to compare OBJECTIVE findings like the above video has, we can do that too. At the end of the day, I love the I4 with all of...
Yes, I certainly agree with that. That said, I've never bought an enthusiast car worrying about exit strategy....if that was the case, I wouldn't have touched the emira.
Would you use the same logic for a pdk gt3? It sure was a superlative car when I owned it.
The dct emira is a very visceral car....and as more reviews of the 400hp car are coming out, they are proving such.
Not so much on the turbo. Terry Burger responds very quickly to emails. He's the one to ask if ecu is recording performance changes that may jeopardize the powertrain side of the warranty. I've used jb4s on many of my cars which have been very dependable. Emiras being service prone has me...
According to Lotus NA engineer, and there's only three in the US, the campaign that took care of the sluggish gear selection issue also helped smooth out the shifts via the cpu/tcm....no reduction in HP/torque. Amen
