Turns out the 997 GT3 brake ducts fit really well on the Emira control arms and hang down the perfect amount to scoop air and redirect it into the center of the brake brake rotor to pump the air out. The nice part is this mod should only cost you about $50.
Parts Needed
- P/N 99734148392 (Porsche 997 GT3 Driver Side Brake Air Duct)
- P/N 99734148492 (Porsche 997 GT3 Passenger Side Brake Air Duct)
- 6 x 11.8 in Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Zip Ties
- Hydraulic Jack and Jack Stands
- Steel Zip Tie Cutter
- Drill & 3/16” drill bit for plastic holes
- Sharp cutters for plastic trimming
- Trim the tie rod clearance area as pictured. (Purple)
- Trim the four protruding arms as pictured. (Green)
- Drill the four extra holes with the 3/16” drill bit as pictured. (Blue)
- Lift the car up, removing the front wheels is not necessary so long as you can turn your steering wheel for each side but it helps for access.
- Position the brake duct and make sure the V shaped notch sits close to the underbody aluminum panel.
- Use thread the steel zip ties through the holes and around the lower control arm and loosely fit the brake duct.
- Adjust as the brake duct position as needed and then tighten them down and cut off the excess zip tie with the cutter.
