There should be a guide on the GFB website for setting it properly but when you tighten that it increased spring preload which can be needed for higher boost level engines or loosen it to decrease for lower boost level. If you tighten it too much you can get "boost creep" issues etc.

Funny I hate the turkey flutter and love the ptttsh lol btw it's my understanding that the flutter is not a good thing. That's backpressure into the compressor. It's not ideal but complies with emissions req. and lowers the sound

This. Several people have alluded to this change over the years as being completely emissions related and not performance/engine efficiency related.

The install is easy as pictured above and also no errors after a short drive. Dunno if it negatively affects mpg (due to some info of maybe it makes the car run a bit more rich) or anything else that could be negative longer term (nothing that's going to trigger a light).

I would love a super loud STUTUTUTUTUTU...but that's compressor surge and not good for the turbo...but sounds so good

There is no adjustment to be done on that valve. The slot in the top is for assembly only

Well that answers that. Don't mess with it!

My adapter plate one works pretty good but I'd wanted it to be a little louder.

So I finally installed my GFB BOV today and just wanted to mention the following for anyone else who does this mod. I noticed 2 of the 3 OE valve bolts seemed to be “sticky” when I removed them. Almost felt like they were cross threaded. However, I noticed they had some red residue on them when I eased them out. So, I’m guessing they had the high temp red thread lock dabbed on each at install from the factory. I mention it in case anyone was afraid of removing them with extra force. Overall, the valve seems to deliver on all its promises. Although I do get random blow-offs, but apparently that’s normal for this valve.

However the bigger concern was unrelated. I noticed the heat shield passed the turbo on the passenger side has 2 bolts that caught my eye. Both were backed out almost half of their thread! Not sure why, but you may want to double check these. BTW the heat shield was visibly loose.

The following first pic is a wide shot for perspective (bolt of concern is closest to the O2 sensor in this first pic) and the second pic is a closeup shot of the top bolt that backed out (there are 2). If you follow straight down from the detail pictured bolt, you’ll see the second one below. 8mm I believe. BTW the pic was after I re-torqued it. that's why it looks normal.
