Each M139 engine is hand-built by one AMG technician. Part of AMG's "One Man, One Engine" program. AMG have said every engine has a plaque with the signature of the technician that built it. I think is hidden away on the side, rather than visible on the top.

Thank you for this! Really cool touchMy last car before my Emira i4 was a C63S and I had another AMG before that, so deep down inside I am still an AMG fanboy. I ordered an original matte black AMG badge and put it on the engine cover facing back into the cabin. That way, every time I look in the rear vision mirror, I am reminded what is inside. Well, its not as cool as seeing the throttle valve in the V6 but I think the matte black AMG badge is very subtle.

I also got a smaller original AMG badge in gloss black (I prefer matte black to match the engine cover but not available in the smaller size badge). I haven't put it on yet as I am still undecided about it facing the back for all to see. The other badge can only be seen from inside the cabin by the driver and passenger.

Hi, did you make that yourself?Or you can just replace the engine cover badge with a custom design.
