Emira owners in China had the exact same problem you have with our first generation exhausts like Aerie's design which vendors have updated to avoid heating problem. My setup is the fourth version of Boomgear's exhaust that Ryan had put serious laptime on and exhibit no problem whatsoever. Is it really needed? You never know until you have a problem.

Aerie doesn't make a heat wrapped full exhaust after checking their website. Do they make it custom?

This is the diffuser made by CT carbon that dealer says isn't directing cool air to valve controller as well. But is it relly such a big difference from stock air flow???

Isn't there an air scoop on the bottom of the OEM diffuser that sucks air from under the car and directs it to the valve? Perhaps the aftermarket carbon diffusers do not have this hole?

Had to go thru some old pictures to make sure I wasn't remembering things I hadn't seen
These are pictures of my (V6 Manual) diffuser. The area circled in red is a hole in the black plastic, with a metal reinforcement in the inside. IIRC this is in the general area of the valve assembly.

If I remember correctly the controller is shared with another manufacturer but I forgot which, let me ask.

Think I read on here it was the same as a Fiesta ST...???

They also have headers and turbo parts.

Their headers are quite expensive but I was told it also won’t give u CEL

Can the stock valve controller be purchased separatly?

Spoke to my body shop & it is not a goog idea to cut the CT carbon fiber. CT should have had a hole made in the diffuser so the valve controller could get direct air to it. It sucks that we are guinea pigs for all these new products.

Why not keep greg’s muffler and then get greg’s cf diffuser? I thought his version had the cutout for ventilation.

Yeah I think your bigger issue is the diffuser not the exhaust. You need to go back to stock or get one with a vent.

I think @675430VME 's setup doesn't have a valve in the muffler, and is designed to be fully open all the time. The ECU needs to "see" the valve is alive and well, so he just had the controller unit removed from the muffler assembly and moved to the side, connected electrically but not mechanically. Whatever the ECU tells it to do, it will do it, but will not affect the flow of exhaust.

While you search for a replacement valve controller, you may want to consider bolting on or welding some sort of retainer on the muffler valve to keep it fully open, then relocating the Milltek v1 unit and valve controller. The Milltek unit should reply "everything is fine" to the ECU regardless of how messed up the valve controller is.

Is there any way to redirect pressure buildup in the rear wheel wells to flow thru the muffler space and exit from the rear mesh? Will be messy in the rain, but just a thought...

He has a valve controller the last time I saw his car. He’s basically running this style



Although his is not mach5 but his tuner branded exhaust (Boomgear), I’m pretty sure Mach5 has some sort of relationship with them since Mach5’s factory is in the same region.

Mine is a valve muffler.
