Shift Knob Replacement

I'm going to be controversial and say I really like the original gear knob. If the OEM one was a crappy plastic/leather coated knob as found in other cars we would all be paying a fortune to mod it with a bare milled aluminium knob.

I've also never suffered the roughness hurting my delicate hands complaint I've read about. It's a raw sports car. Put the hand moisturiser away and drive the thing like it's meant to be driven, or get back in your Tesla!

I like the style of the stock shift knob too although I wish it was a little bigger. If I could find an oversized one in the same style I would get it. Monkeywrench sells one but it doesn't have the shift pattern milled out.

Black Forest Industries makes some beautiful aftermarket shift knobs and shift boots in various materials and colors. Everything from perforated leather, Alcantara, weighted billet, carbon, etc.. Most available with custom colors/stitching. They're a little pricey IMO, but good quality.

I'll reach out to see if they're interest in doing a Lotus run for us. Anyone happen to know the Emira shift knob thread size?
Did you ever get any traction with this? I'd love to replace the stock "ball" either their air leather weighted one but im concerned about direct replacement / feel. How will it work with / without the set screw and will it have the space for the reverse lockout mechanism to slide up into it like the factory one does. They make the best looking knobs ibe seen so far...

Post 77 (of this thread) has the dimensions and thread size.
