Regardless of which OBD2 app I use the listed water temps are about 25-30 degrees cooler than what is shown on the dash. I have an I4 but I think the shown dash water temps are not that accurate either just based on what I am seeing when I live monitor.

I believe on the I4 there are two water temp sensors (I think) one is on the cold side of the feed (LCT) and the other is more accurate and shows the actual engine water temps (ECT). Does anyone know if the OBD2 values are from the LCT and not ECT? I do know the dash water temps like most modern cars do not show the correct value, just something under 200 when warmed up and something higher than 200 if the water temps are hot.

Do V6 owners also show a much lower live water temp via OBD2?

I noticed this first when data logging my JB4 it would sometimes cut power due to it thinking the engine is not warmed up yet and would hover around 155-160. The IAT's and other values seem to be correct, just whatever is coming through OBD2 for water temps are low.

Yes, on my V6, the OBD2 data is rarely exactly the same as what's displayed on the dash. I can be at 188F and the dash will read 194F. I can be at 194F and the dash reads 200F.

I can also be at 203F and the dash stays at 200F.
