VF Tuner - Upgraded Supercharger Lid

Must have e85 tune and meth injection come in with this lid and a CAI. MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!

Results are here on our emira Supercharger lid, and we are pretty happy with the gains.

Note - the best results are going to pair with a tune or JB4 (tested stock vs lid, and JB4 with/without lid).

First, the lids are extremely high quality and look amazing on the car!

down to the results.
on STOCK vehicle (no modifications at all) the Supercharger lid produces modest low-end torque increases while higher end RPM remains similar to stock.

Stock vs lid (no tuning, no modifications) - results were negligible. Small here and there gains, but overall near the limiter horsepower remained constant at around 385whp.

Where better gains came in was when it was paired with the JB4.
Lower RPM gains of about 10-15 horsepower was noticed with peak gains of 10-12+whp.
this is bone stock car with JB4 and lid.

From this data we can conclude that the lid really starts to shine when the supercharger is pushed harder, and in stock form with stock low boost an upgraded lid isn't necessary.
The owner of the car did also notice a 1.5psi increase after JB4+lid.

overall we are very happy with these results, as this is around 20+BHP gain on a stock pulley with just a piggyback tuner. When the Emiras start diving into *exhaust mods*, *smaller pulleys* and more, we think the lid is going to really shine even further.

With that, we will be offering a Group-buy purchase for folks who have a JB4 and want to maximize their gains with it, if there is interest.
The price will be less than initial quotes.

So, now you're piggybacking off the piggyback tune that you more or less vilified? Interesting...

Why didn't you dyno: stock, JB4, then JB4 + lid???

Quality control in this country has gone to absolute .... I'm f... done.. F! I'm done man.. NO MORE!

Thank you troll.

First off I have never vilified the piggyback, rather I have, multiple times, stated heat issues with this vehicle and how the piggyback (by producing more power) makes more heat, via less load and ultimately higher ignition and leaner AFR..., and that the stock ECU doesn't have tons of protections built in place..could cause issues, which people already have documented. Clearly you have reading comprehension issues.
Our lid actually reduces the heat, and in turn, more power is gained.

Do you not understand Dyno results?

it is stock vs lid
and Stock lid + JB4 vs our Lid vs JB4.

If you want to just whine and complain like a damn teenager just go elsewhere. You sound like my teenage daughter.

Time and time again now emira owners are showing us exactly why we should just abandon this platform.

That's very interesting isn't it? Cause I didn't actually look at the dynos...

But, just as I had posted in another thread. Cooling + JB4 = WIN. I mean that's like 1 + 1 = 2 fellas.

Why am I not surprised you wouldn't even look at the dynos.

If all you have is negative things to say please just go away. I'm really getting to the point of just abandoning this platform because of owners like you.

It’s the weekend mods will clean it up I’m sure, just keep doing what you wanna do. (y)

Great news! Will there be other color options? I would prefer a stealthy grey tone, with maybe the "V6" part in silver.

There is a child in me that wants to stretch his legs every once in awhile... my apologies.

Yea, it's honestly a nice supercharger lid. I think black would look great. How much are they?

EDIT: Stealth Dark Grey.. not black. Definitely a little bit of two-tone with hints of silver.

Is there a way to quantify the improvement in terms of heat? Perhaps either coolant temps or intake temps, etc?

I am not a super expert here, I’m asking genuinely.

This seems like a great marginal improvement, very exciting and job well done.

Did you notice any change in terms of sound and/or supercharger whine?

Also, it would be interesting to dyno a car with intake, jb4 and 3rd cat delete, as that seems to be a very common “stage 1+” set up that many have.

I assume this is a super easy install, just remove stock lid, replace gasket and retorque bolts appropriately?

This makes me much more excited for your ecu tuning.

I would try not to let critical comments bother you so much. Sometimes people are just being sarcastic online and it’s very hard to tell that from text. I know I’m guilty of this myself.

👏 👏

@VF Tuner

No BS. I do appreciate what you're doing. And, I will buy your products if they align with the direction I'm taking.

I do have a word of advice.. a little untimely but.. I really think the design options will play a big role on sales. Not saying that you have to have 10 different designs... just something that most people can easily vibe with. The gains are great.. and some won't care what it looks like.. but many will. I mean people are considering not tinting their rear windows so that people can see the engine.. so aesthetics will play a big role on this product's sales in my opinion.

I'm wondering how this lid will work together with JUBU's cooling kit. Will it be somewhat cumulative or not? I don't expect you to answer that question.. that would be on one of us to experiment.

Same curiosity re: jubu cooling kit, esp given Jubu reduced load on inter cooler, which should further help intake air temps and thusly (consistency of) power.

I’m debating having jubu ship me that kit to install why my mechanic is already under engine doing motor mounts and tranny renewal.

You should definitely have that shipped ASAP to get it done while your mechanic has easy access now. Probably save you some $$$ for sure. JUBU is back in the office tomorrow morning. That's when my journey with JUBU begins..

My thoughts, completely guessing, but I think they will be somewhat cumulative because they are two completely different approaches to cooling and they should work together to some degree.

I am hoping that @VF Tuner brings a kick ass design option that works for me cause I am sensitive to design aesthetic.

Just a reminder... and I know you guys know this but... cooling is a big big thing.. with computers.. cars.. whatever. Every car I've owned, including most recently the FL5, was so much better when cold. Summertime ATL.. shizzzz.. car felt like a 93 Honda Civic LX. But wintertime, all of a sudden its a Ferrari.

Just thinking about the Emira with some decent power upgrades along with some nice ice cold cooling equals bliss. Then winter rolls around... shizzz.. I better upgrade my axles and get some Pilot Sport 4S in my life.

Is there a way to get a torque plot in the “with jb4” comparison?

Also, was that map 1 or 2?

Leaning towards buy esp I can have it I yellow to match my brakes, stitching, and other future yelllw accents from the racing line concepts. If not, I can probably figure that out later.
