Thoughts on modifications

Boomerang decal which accentuates aperture curve.
Yeah I can see that but hell4leather seemed to be wondering if the road hood could be modified so I assumed it was more than just the decal which would be really easy.

The Emira GT4 hood is actually vented (not just decals). I assume that hood could be purchased through Lotus at some point and simply bolt right up. Might require some modification for the hood pins to function properly.

Or drill the holes yourself and get a repaint :)

My biggest problem with the scissor door mod on the Evora is that they ALSO open normally. I find this unacceptable.

It means anytime you open the doors "up", you are definitely peacocking. Like actively choosing to be a peacock in that moment. Which feels ridiculous, and try hard.

If the doors only opened upward, well then you're just living with a decision you made some time in the past. Like anyone with a tattoo, or a child. It allows onlookers to see pangs of regret on your face as you load your groceries, and that makes it a sacrifice for the art, which makes it cool.

As long as it doesn't add weight though (because lotus) which it most certainly will.
If you bought an Emira you are always peacocking every time you drive it. lol

Personally, besides feeling they are "maximum poseur" material, I find the idea of scissor or gull-wing doors terrifying... I just know I would eventually wang them into the roof in a multi-storey car park 😬
Their is a whole list of "poseur" mods on cars in shows. Any type of lighting under the car, rims "unless lighter", drip guards, wide body kits, spoilers not specifically engineered to add down force appropiately, carbon fiber covers that fit over parts instead of replacing, wraps, metal gas caps, white letter tires, fire extinguishers on non-track cars, ...etc.

My opinion is do what you like and don't worry about others judgement. If you like scissor doors then do it. To many people trying to make themselves feel better by judging others.

Sure... that comment was more about how they'd make me feel about myself, more than a judgement cast at others. :)

(holy resurrected thread, Batman! I don't even remember this conversation 😆)
