Just a quick opinion question. I’m taking the car in for the second service. Did the first service at 1000 miles. Car currently has almost 6000 trouble free miles. Should it just be an oil change and updates? Brake fluid? Thanks for the suggestions!

I’ve had the car new since April 26. 6k miles since then. I obviously can’t get enough of it! I4

Personally I wouldn’t do any other fluid other than oil. Brake fluid should be fine unless you’re tracking the car. For street driving I do brake fluid about every 2 years although I have not looked at the Lotus schedule to see if theirs is any different..

I would agree fully with @767Driver on this. I would further add that 5 months after delivery and only 5k miles since your break in oil service if it was my dealer they’d only be doing an oil service and possible software updates. Unless you’ve been tracking it hard and are concerned about the brake fluid.
I would also further add that after a lot of reseach and hand-wringing about required maintanance schedules and intervals, this is what I've found: Lotus' philosophy about this in the US dffers significantly from the UK. Whereas in the UK there is a published maintenance schedule, in the US there is not. This is because Lotus defers maintanance decisions completely to their dealer network. No rigid schedule however it's expected they have the recommended service intervals in mind.

When I had this conversation with my dealer service manager, he takes a very practical approach. If it doesn't need the service, he's not there to push an unnecessary expense on the owner, and will stand by his decisions with Lotus in the case of any warranty issue. This is, in my understanding, how Lotus corporate intends it to be for the US.

With all that said, I dont track mine and at my 2 year service at about the same mileage as yours (5k) my dealer did oil/filter change and software updates, and examined my brake fluid, gave two thumbs up, and suggested I wait until the next service to exchange.

If you have a decent dealer even for an interim (A) service they should be doing more than just changing the oil & filters and doing updates. They should also be doing a full inspection of the car; engine, suspension, brakes, gears, belts, hoses, bearings, codes etc etc. - preventative maintenance, that's what you are paying for.
