Seatbelt buckle problem

Hi. Has anyone had a problem with the seatbelt buckle (passenger side)? Mine wouldn't 'lock' when the latch plate was slotted in. After a few frustrated 'in/out' movements, it did click locked, but now it won't open. The red button simply will not depress, so the latch plate now remains locked into the buckle. Any suggestions?!
