Tell me this is not an Emira by another name. Ghillie and BYD must be joined at the hip!! Dilution of product!!! Little bit angry here.

This was revealed several months ago. It's all electric though.

Geely and BYD are touted in the press as "rivals" the the same marketspace. But both receive substantial government aid and have the same domestic regulator and so there's very little chance of a "copyright" claim here. Even if that was a thing as you can't copyright a "car shape".

Both Honda and JLR have previous spent years on copyright claims against Chinese firms, wasted a lot of money only to lose.

Geely is to BYD as Ford is to GM, which is to say fierce competitors. And yes, copy-cat design "theft" has been going on forever.

One could also accuse Lotus of heavily following design cues from Ferrari.

Imitation is indeed flattery. The Emira has Ferrari looks. But this is a winning formula copy for sure. What say our China Nio (Lotus sportscar) mates?
Shall we be upset if our cars are mistaken for US $260 000+ cars (and the residuals climb)?
It's time to revisit the 2028 Horse engine Emira images.
