Hi all,
Tried searching and going over 10 pages.
Bought the car brand new Friday. Drove for several miles but when I was close to home, after a stop at a light, I shifted to second from first, and bam no power, nothing when pressing accelerator harder. Nothing on 3rd, 4th, etc. Limp the car home on first.
Called local dealer, told the salesman and they told me to come first thing in the morning. That night after reading some post here about things not being plugged correctly, I found the middle coil towards the front of the engine not plugged in all the way, so I plugged it in. Took a test drive that night and seemed well.
Started the car the next day, no issue. Was able to get to the dealership. Tech said he never heard about the issue, took it around for a test drive, plugged it in for any issues and double check fitment but unable to replicate the issue. Went home no issue.
After few hours, gf and I were heading to meet up with family. After the first stoplight, it did it again! Luckily there was another stoplight so I decided to turn off the car for a few seconds and turn it back on, and it went back to normal. Now there's a humming noise on the rear passenger engine side.
Texted the tech and said to bring it in Monday as they might need to get a lotus engineer to chime in.
No check engine lights.
Has anyone experienced this? Will update once I drop off the car tomorrow and see what they say.
