More details for KEF Audio

So true. Its shocking to me. AND...who had the balls to suggest that it was worth paying a $1k premium over the base stereo???

But yes, this is a small fault in an otherwise glorious car. Nothing in life is perfect.
Have you heard the base system? I just drove an emira with the base system on this thursday. The base system is absolutely rubbish and I am by no means an audiophile…

It's definitely possible, since modern car audio systems all rely on software for beating the system response into shape. It should be fairly easy to use software to update things like EQ adjustments, phase/timing adjustments, compression/limiter adjustments, low/high/band crossover adjustments. Every time our audio system powers up, the microcontroller reads these settings from the stored program and sends it to the SigmaDSP chip, which loads it before unmuting the outputs. Changing what the stored settings are will change system behavior on the next power up.
So true. I had a HK system in my BMW and used Bimmercode to change the audio system processing and it indeed made a noticeable difference in sound quality. I think it would be easy for a software update to change the sound of the KEF system. Night and day, probably not, but noticeable improvement, I would say yes.
