Ask him again today about that. FE's now not coming in to North America until 2024. And base models after that. Sort of like Elon does, take deposit money, don't give updates, sit on all the money you have now and laugh all the way to the bank.
Yeah I heard about latest round of delays for NA. I thought they were starting Nov. 2023 now? If so I was expecting spring 2024 if using same lead time.

Perhaps for the better, just took delivery of a dream this winter, good to space things out 🙂

Not sure how many deposits they have now.

From talking to Paul last week at the TO auto show (he was there with an Emira & a DB2-4) he said there was a lot of interest at the show. However, interest doesn’t necessarily translate to deposits especially when most people at an auto show are just looking.
There is a guy on my car chat that ordered at show and said he worked out a deal to be guaranteed an Emira for April 2024. I'm going to be livid if that happens, I ordered 2 days after announcement, July '21

1 out of 10 is incorrect I contacted Lotus head office and they confirmed that ratio is false and also confirmed the standard minimum deposit required from dealers is $2500.
Sorry to bring this up again, but I heard today that Gentry Lane is supposedly receiving far more allocation amounts than Oakville. I didn't hear 10-1, but they did say double the amount for 2024. More than I originally thought. Perhaps something is going on at Lotus Oakville that we don't know about yet. Hearing rumblings that they may not be a Lotus dealer in the near future. A little worried about this, anyone heard anything of this sort?

I haven’t heard anything. Shitty if true, me being a deposit holder with Oakville.

Interesting since I placed my deposit with Gentry in July/2021.

What/who is your source of this intel?

It was brought up during a conversation today I was having with someone from Pfaff reserve. Apparently one of his clients placed an Emira deposit and was saying this to him this week. He apparently switched to Gentry because of this. A lot of hearsay going on and there is no reason to believe the allocations being double. Especially since I don't think Lotus has even given out allocations for 2024. Realistically, we don't even know if Canada is getting any Emira F/E 2.0's.

I'm not one to spread rumours around, so certainly take all of this with a grain of salt. Just wanted to see if any Oakville depositors on here has heard anything similar that can back this up. The guy I know is usually on top of the industry, but admittadly knows very little of the Lotus world.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard an auto dealer spuriously claim to be #1 at something and their competitors all utter failures on the same metric, I'd have a bag of nickels heavy enough to club a bear unconscious.

Roflmao! Funny! 🤣😂

At least we can banter and speculate about what may or may not be true as we while away the months that become years waiting for these elusive Emira sports cars. If only Lotus HQ would give us monthly updates with concrete info. Unfortunately that’s not the way Lotus deals with it’s loyal customers and dealers.

An email I received from them this evening.

We are thrilled to announce that Lotus has introduced new colors for the Lotus model Emira, and we can't wait for you to see them! The Emira has always been an eye-catching car, and these new colours only add to its appeal. We are confident that you will love the new options that we have added to our lineup.

The new colours available for the Lotus Emira are Vivid Red (solid), Meridian Blue (metallic), Zinc Grey (solid), Atlantis Blue (metallic), Osmium Silver (metallic), Cosmos Black (metallic), and Mist White (solid). Each of these colours has been carefully chosen to give you a wide range of options when it comes to customizing your Emira to your taste.

We are also excited to announce that the 2024 model year will begin production in August of 2023 as the V2 of the First Edition. This updated version of the Emira will feature all of the new colour options, along with some other enhancements that we know you will appreciate.

In addition to the 7 new paint colours, the nose badge, wheel centres and key fob will have the change of Corporate Identity to black feature. The addition of a practical passenger footwell stowage net concludes the Emira V6 First Edition V2 changes.

Thank you for your continued support of Lotus, and we look forward to helping you find the perfect Emira in the color that speaks to you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. We are here 9-5 Mon to Sat .

The badges are changing from yellow to black now? Well at least they sent out some info even if it seems more confusing?

This is helpful, thanks.
Has Gator weighed in on this? They have some serious street cred with customer updates. Waiting for other dealers to take the hint.

perhaps they meant you can option the black badges or the standard yellow badges. Would make more sense.

ICE = yellow badge
EV = Black badge

I hope this change of colors for the nose, wheel and fob badges is for the FE version 2, because I do NOT want black badges on mine. I want the yellow and green Lotus badges on those areas of my car. DV is dark enough without murdering out the entire look of the car.

It was a very odd e-mail... they didn't specify V1 vs V2, simply stated that these are the new Emira options (more to come) and this is what is changing. (badge colour) Almost as if V1 no longer is going to exist for model year 2024? I read it over a few times now and still does not give any clarity. Also of note is no discussion on price change. (even tho in Canada as previously discussed is over priced compared to UK/EU/USA) I am starting to think that Canadian spec Emira will all be version 2.0 and may not affect V1 American buyers.

It does seem the fact they are changing the key fob indicates that the black badge will be the only option going forward. Except after market of course.

Simply more confusion than answers for us.

Since we are on the topic of Toronto dealerships... Gentry is not very forthcoming when it comes to email correspondence, but has anyone heard directly from them lately? (More so, since the announcement of a potential FE V2 model)

Oh, not the Great White North!
At least the Americans have Gator to give solid, timely info… fantastic dealer as far as comms go.

The info for CAN market seems to be a little different.

Oh well, we will find out soon I suppose. Haha
