Lotus Emira V6 ECU Tune - Bench Flash

Im interested too:
7400rpm
2.8’ pulley
93 octane
Bolts on (headers+titanium exhaust system (decat-midpipe-muffler) plus valve controller

3 questions:
-is dealer software update still possible on the ecu after flash
-does the car keep the stock characteristics in terms of burbles/pops/bangs on the overrun
-how will you ‘fine’ tune the car for the region (hot humid climate)

That will depend on which part of the dealer software update. There are different components for different software.
For us in China who got cloning done from Ryan, we could bring the original to the dealer for update then clone back to the mod ECU.

V6 we can do worldwide, no ECU swapping / cloning or anything like that
Once the flash is done, should I avoid letting dealer do software updates, especially until obdii tuning is possible?

Aka, could dealer software updates overwrite the tune?

They seem to do updates non stop. Clearly the car has bugs they are still working out

Whats the status on this? Anyone comitted already and shipped over their ecu? BV

I am committed. I have ordered and paid for my spare ecu from lotus. As soon as it arrives, we will have it programmed to car by dealer, and I’ll ship my original to VF to commence the 🔥

Sounds great! So in a few weeks from now we finally have something. Looking forward to it and will be next in line.. without pre ordering a new ecu if yours goes well

This is the hope!

I know that alientech (Italy) / AMT (Canada) are working together right now to be the first to offer emira flashing in North America.

I am betting @VF Tuner and 🇺🇸.

Also, first is the wrong goal. Best is the correct goal.

Only 1 person.

Everyone really wanted a V6 Tuning solution, now that it is here...it's pretty silent in terms of actual orders.

The Emira community is overall still pretty small and like other retailers here, it usually requires seeing a few commitments to really get things moving. As initial costs on us developers is quite high to make parts / tunes / etc.

I personally know a lot of people who are v interested, but are waiting to see results on my car before moving forward.

This is part of why I decided to take a little risk, buy another ecu, and go for it.

These cars have been “quick but not fast” for too long. It can’t continue. It’s time to grow up and make some real power 😂

Results will be identical to what we have already well established on the Evora.

I think that most people don't fully understand the challenge associated with protections on the Emira ECU. It is not clear how getting new ECUs works and what challenges they might face at the dealer. That's a lot to create trepidation when (to my knowledge), there is not one video of a tune running on an Emira.

Once you have evidence, people will pour in. That's what happened with JB4 - they subsidized install for one client, proved results, and then people swarmed to have it.

This will be the same but better if rev limit is removed and driveability is great etc. please hold out faith! Tons of us want this. Just waiting to see what we're buying.

I don’t want to send my ECU off to the USA and be without the car until it comes back. I would want to by a new ECU and send that. Then the ‘all in’ costs are a lot higher. I’d therefore want to see some more evidence, other than “it worked on the Evora”. In addition, the original post stated ‘+ bolt ons” . I did ask what they were (as well as how easy it was to change a pulley) but never got a response.

I wonder about this too. I assume a dealer update will overwrite it.@VF Tuner?

All the modules talk to each other and from what I heard during a tech talk Lotus did in Austin last year, there are version dependencies between modules. So I wonder if swapping back to old ecu for updates and then back unlocked ECU will cause issues due to version mismatches.

I am that person waiting to see how it goes with other folks. I prefer purchasing an ECU and doing a swap, as I do not want to jeopardize my warranty and extended warranty that I have. My thoughts are that I can swap the factory ecu back with zero evidence of the tune. It's one of the reasons I held off on the JB4, (and now enthusiastically waiting for this option) as I feel that the modification would be treceable by the dealer.

Guys, when you swap the ecu they will still know.. dont think swapping in and out will get your warranty warranted when you get engine related problems. They will see every rpm increase above 6800 and by default it is void. Our friend here had een problem with the engine/rpm related no need to go into details. Needed a brand new engine and it was not covered by warranty I can tell you that.
Once 3 years warranty is over id say unleash the beast, before that if you dont care about warranty.. but dont think doing all shit to the car and swapping the old ecu will cover your ass.. it wont!
