Thanks for sharing your info and let Zygrene drive your car. So we can all be part of that transformation to a GT4 spec Emira. :)

Zygrene seems to be very impressed and also the torque of the engine seems to be more than enough, now. I would finally go that route, too. Get that Öhlins TTX and upgrade to Komo-Tec 475bhp setup with raised redline to 7100rpm.

What compression / rebound settings you are using for street driving at the moment? Zygrene mentions it twice in the video it could use a little more damping.

I know it from my BMW M2 F87 where I use the M-performance coilovers, it's always a tradeoff. As this is my daily driver I have chosen a rather soft damping that sometimes/very rarely is a little too soft in the twisties when you start really pushing it. But on the other hand in almost all other daily situations it is as compliant as it can get.

The springs and valving are completely custom for these ohlins ttx. I had specifically set the car up a click on compression and rebound softer than I usually run them because of how bumpy the road they test on is.

I think that may have been too soft in the rear on the big bumps. Like you said it’s a trade off, the vast majority of this road — the settings were perfect.

Here’s a fun one, I’ve been working on a touchscreen oled dial for the Emira when you have a Milltek valve controller.

This controller has support to:
- Act as a new third remote for your Milltek valve controller (default behavior)
- Act as a clone of an existing remote

- Swipe through valve modes (Open, Closed, OEM)
- 1 second press to emergency switch to closed and 1 second press to go back to the mode you were at before.
- User configurable quiet zones for making your exhaust quiet when you’re at home or within close proximity to a fixed sound check at the race track.

I’m still working on some hardware, small software tweaks, and where to mount — got a couple options there.

Noticed that this was installed and functional in the review video? Any more details you can share?

Yeah it’s functional and I’ve track tested it at Laguna Seca. The downside is it isn’t perfect, there’s bugs because I’m using some off the shelf components that would require me to be able to solder tiny resistors to make it work for the public. Additionally it’s simply way too much labor for me to make and sell them, talking like 3 hours between fine tuning prints, assembling, making a wiring harness, testing etc. And that’s on top of the high cost per unit for me to even get the components required. I don’t think any of you are going to pay me a grand to make these :ROFLMAO:

It’s likely going to live as a one off passion project for myself. Next up is I’m making a set of battery powered IR cameras that attach magnetically under the car to measure tire temps live across the tire and display/record/transmit.

I think you might be surprised on what people are willing to pay :)
Alternatively offer the tech to an electrical company to build and sell.

Been playing with making live tire temperature sensors that could be placed in front of all four tires under the car magnetically and communicate wirelessly to my little OLED gauge.

This uses an IR array 36px by 32px with a 110 degree field of view, transmits data over ESP now, has automatic edge detection of the tires for when they're being steered up front and deflection out back.

This could be displayed in real time and logged on my OLED gauge to help me figure out what sorts of alignment changes I'd need.

My face as a tire:

That is pretty slick @kitkat. Are you using a RasberryPI for processing and driving the display?

This is all powered by relatively inexpensive ESP32-S3s.

Interesting. I know this isn't the same but is it possible to get temperature from the sensors in the tire? Code it into the cars system?
My BMW shows both pressure and temperature.

The Evora and Emira TPMS should technically transmit both tire pressure AND tire temperature. I think neither cars just do anything with the data. This sort of tire temperature isn't super useful for anything but is the tire too hot overall or too cold overall. I plan on seeing if I can integrate this, but I've never dealt with TPMS protocols.

Just dreaming here, but it would be pretty amazing to connect a RaspberryPI to the ODBII port, and Bluetooth transmit to phone for CarPlay, or custom KitKat display, etc. There’s gotta be a business case there somewhere. Especially if you could make it work across multiple brands of vehicles.

Brilliant my friend!

Moved the fronts a bit in spring rates to play with on track.

600 lbs front / 800 lbs rear

Played with damping a bit to match.

At Sonoma today and it’s the first time I really feel comfortable in the car. Far less body roll and rotation happens and is controlled naturally.

Yea, I only use it to know when my tires are at least to a temperature that I can start pushing the car. It's better than nothing. If you figure it out would love to set that up in my car.

3D Rock Guards
Has anyone had these printed by an online service? If so, would you post the link? How much was it?

Been toying with the idea, will play around with it this fall/winter.

Before you ask:
- Yes the reverse lockout would need to be removed to make the shaft thinner, an entirely new shaft may actually be needed.
- Unsure how if I can come up with a mechanism to keep the lockout in place or not.
- Yes this would have some side to side adjustability.
- Unsure about spacing from gate to gate or throw length -- will be experimenting with that.
- Would probably get the base made in 6061 gloss black anodizing and the top in 6061 brushed aluminum to attempt to match the existing surrounds.

I just saw this and too funny. I printed your boot delete and was planning to make something like this by hand. Then make a mold of it and make the piece out of carbon fiber. Sending you another PM ;-).

Sonoma is pretty fun on two wheels too......did a track day several years ago on a Yamaha R1.

I saw this Garmin Catalyst R1 released which tells you on track where cars are coming up behind you and I thought, that it was a cool recycled use of the Garmin RearVue 820 tech in the cycling rear light.

So I got cracking on a license plate mount for my bicycle light :ROFLMAO:

Pretty early stages but right now I can:

- Pair the cycling radar to the ESP32 display.
- Detect up to 8 approaching vehicles from behind.
- Tell how far back and how far side to side laterally they are from the center of my car with roughly 1 ft. precision.
- Tell how fast the cars are coming up on me, decelerating, or moving side to side with roughly 1 ft./sec precision.
- Detect them at 200+ meters away.

This is probably pretty useless to me unless I were wheel to wheel racing, but it's kinda fun.

I'll post more when I figure out an interface to convey the information about cars approaching.
