Thread 'KEF System Casual Analysis'

The above is another thread on the KEF system. I generally agree with the OP's opinion on the system. A great write up!
Sound is a subjective thing for everyone and their tastes.
You could try the settings in the thread above and the 'sound settings reset'. I'm happy with Treble -1 to -2 and keep the rest at 0 and speed sound adjustment 'off'.
Radio sounds OK, but much better with Spotify or similar apps. You can tell the difference between low-res file and lossless Spotify settings on the KEF system. Yes, Spotify in the UK finally has 'lossless' audio! Hey, it's at least slightly higher than CD quality, which no-one ever complained about.
Bass isn't it's strongest point, but it's fine and it can make the rear view mirror glass shake if you want, so it does exist, but it's not going to make your chest vibrate or rival a home hi-fi setup. If you can accept that then it's fine in my opinion. The highlight is the treble and mids are very clean and distortion free, even at max. volume which is great! So don't be afraid to turn it up! At lower volumes it can sound a bit thin. The system sounds best listening mid to loud...a lot like my home hi-fi system

.
Also the cabin is quite loud, being a sports car, so will struggle to compete with those environmental sounds. At standstill the system shows how good it is and the bass isn't drowned out by the engine vibrations. Fleetwood Mac, Fall Out Boy, and Luke Combs sounds good on this system.
I have 14,000km on the odometer and have run this system in and I agree with others that it starts to mellow (less sharp treble) and bed in after a while of being played loud.
I've adjusted to the fact that the volume is usually over halfway for involved music listening. This felt odd at first, as on most cars 1/4 volume is almost full volume and you daren't go over 1/2 as it's too loud already and distortion kills all joy of listening. I had a Kia Sportage as a hire car with a Harman Kardon sound system and although the bass was cleaner (helped by the quiet cabin in comparison I suspect), everything else sounded worse and less engaging than the KEF system in comparison.
Bit of a long write up - so well done for getting to the end!
