Weather, heat, and garages have been discussed as possible causes of deteriorating membranes, but what about the actual water that pours onto them? Do you folks use detergents (car shampoo, foam, etc) when washing the car? I usually use only water (nothing fancy, just tap water out of a garden hose) and foam maybe 2-3 times a year, and do not have any cracks yet.
