You've clearly done much work on this. Any chance of some photos so I can see all the extra stuff you've done above and beyond the membrane? CheersHaving just fitted my 3rd membrane as more info on water intrusion surfaced, I agree the slots for locating the screen at base of windshield is a concern. I cut/installed membrane to slide up far enough to cover under the slots. Also used Flex tape putty to encircle each slot prior to replacing screen.
Still, the openings in the center mechanism for washers, closer stop etc a problem; each hole was plugged using medium dense foam, including around hoses/wires for washer nozzles.
After fitting plastic covers, areas of overlap which showed where water could enter was taped with Gorilla tape (including around cutout around fresh air intake before placing membrane).
And prior to placing membrane, I bagged/taped around each visible wire connector (some freely unplugged) securing with tie wraps-included the HVAC resistor unit.
I’m not sure what else can be done, other than never letting the car get wet.![]()
Sorry, I’m a bit of a Luddite when it comes to downloading/uploading/transferring pic between devices/apps, and according to my wife, quite singularly focused when undertaking a job so blundered through task without photos . Hope my reply above is understandable-again, my wife says I usually remember just enough to make my point confusingYou've clearly done much work on this.
