Nelumbo nucifera
Emira Fan
I'm on the cusp of buying a new 2026, but this issue is extremely concerning--enough to make me very possibly not buy the car at all. My guess is we're seeing perhaps less prevalence here in the U.S. only due to our cars beginning deliveries much later than the U.K., though one would think with the failures even on recently replaced doors in the U.K. that we would see more of this issue here. Hmmm.
Perhaps buying your new car now, armed with information regarding certain problems inherent with a few (note, certainly not each and every) Emira produced, may play into your hands when negotiating warranty length of time and extent of warranty offered. They’ll want to make a sale and could even suggest there is no problem anymore with panels and paint bubbling. Great, in that case they should be willing to offer you a 100 year warranty on that and any other problem you raise and that they say is ‘no longer an issue”. Yeah, ok you may not get the 100 year warranty, but you surely “get the drift” about using the weight of your knowledge to illicit a sweeter deal.
As a matter of interest and hopefully encouragement, my 2024 2.0 T has been absolutely fault free, and so have the vast majority of cars delivered.
