Emira - Louvered Polycarbonate Hatch Glass Replacement

yeah you would want to remove anything covering the motor.

Especially when tracking the car as the cover will trap and bounce the heat back.

being in Australia im sure you have experienced running a car without bonnet vents and with being vastly different for engine reliability.
Can you design and build a channel from the vent/blower to the turbo, as this will still need that cold air blowing over it??? ;-)

@mr.suntorytime Awesome prototype and work. Obviously, roll with what appears to be more marketable, but thoughts on doing something closer to the MC20, 488 or F8 rear polycarbonate rear hatch glass design?

Sign me up for this! Im looking forward a long time to have this done without success then the best option was CF but the 2 design available atm are not to my liking. I do look forward to some slight updates on the design.. currently its looking fine but not great, still I think you did a great job. Thanks

To give some feedback rather then saying need a change:
- fitting, the gaps are too wide on either side needs to be more fit/wider
- louvre design as one long slot iso 2
- edges in black are too thick for the looks and the clear part is very small. Id maximise the clear part as much as possible to the edges

@mr.suntorytime this looks hot!!! Congrats on getting the prototype done.

I’m not sure if air is getting pushed into the engine bay from the right vent. It would be great if there was a way to get more air flow into the engine bay with so much more space to evacuate.

I’ve noticed the engine temp changes a lot with driving. At speed it cools quite a bit even when running high RPMs constantly. It’s hottest when idling in traffic. If the temp gauge is to be believed, this will make a huge difference. I’ve had other cars where the engine temp stays static no matter what you are doing. I’ve wondered if it was working at times. The emira is very different in that regard.

OK, so this is a prototype, so things will change, but for me, the Evora GT option looks the better one.
However, any improvement in air displacement from the engine bay has to be a good thing and losing a heavy slab of glass is another benefit
Hats off to you @mr.suntorytime, excellent piece of work.

To the detractors, give the man some time, its a prototype, its supposed to be improved upon
