So, I was reviewing some information on the NTHSB site as I have brought my Emira into the dealer for some updates and just wanted to check if there was anything there, I should inquire about be done, which there really wasn't.
I did find the document below that Lotus had created that explained the software update that needed to be done in order to meet CARB approval back in the day. I began thinking, why couldn't we either find a way to remove this update or inquire with Lotus about removing it once the new law is finalized. I do realize a response form Lotus may be a longshot but maybe if enough people got behind this, they may consider it. I don't think we really know exactly what this update did, but I think the general consensus has been that it could not be a positive change to the code.
As an aside when I brought my car into the dealer I inquired about having them change the coding on the car to allow the window roll up/down with the key fob and the dealer said they are locked out of making coding changes. I'm not sure I'm buying that, but maybe.
