Email... V6 Delayed to 2024!

The reality of the situation is that there was a TON of deposits placed in 2021 that have not been converted into orders. Lotus is going to have to produce cars to more or less satisfy those deposits before they move on to people who placed deposits in 2022. Customers in the rest of the world are not going to be happy reading about people getting a build slot when they can't even submit an order. I'm in that boat with a September 2021 deposit. I know there are a bunch of people in front of me, and the juggling is going to cause someone who placed a deposit much later than me to get a car before me. But that can't be the norm. My optimistic expectation is to get a car in Q4 2023, that means a 2 year wait since deposit. However, at the rate this is going, it may get stretched into Q1/Q2 2024. So if you placed a deposit in 2022... Q3/Q4 of 2024 for delivery sounds pretty reasonable to me.
You may be right. If that's the case I'll probably have moved on to something else by then.

I do agree with you. I placed my deposits in July of 2022 and my expextation is the summer of 2024 (Before Otc of 2024).

1.As we all know, even if Lotus opens a new factory, most of the assembly is done manually, and now there is a higher quality standard, so the new employees are led by the old employees to operate together, and it takes more than three months to completely assemble by themselves.
2. Supply chain problems, due to the global virus situation, so the transportation supply and other problems one after another, everyone knows that a car has so many parts, from all over the world.
3. On the issue of Brexit, which is related to the previous issue, the lack of manpower in various industries, including the logistics industry, and the need to re-do various EU certifications after Brexit will also consume the energy of the management.

Well they'll definitely be a lot more real life I for out there. So I will be able to make an informed decision about what to do... There might even be a hint of the upgraded power option coming soooooon!
youll have to make a lot of decisions by the time your car comes.

1. end of life decisions - DNR etc
2. estate planning
3. preparation for the US tri-centennial
4. Armageddon

I'm older than I want to be, but I'm hoping to out live the Emira production line!

Can someone please post their email here? I’m an October 2021 depositor in Australia (FE V6 manual) — my dealer hasn’t respond to my queries.
Here's my email

As an important Emira customer I wanted to update you personally on your Emira order. In our last communication we shared the difficulties we are facing not only as an industry but here at Lotus.
In 2022 we have faced several unforeseen complications, and as a result we have not been able to ramp up Emira production in the way we had initially planned. This has been challenging but we are doing our very best to resolve the issues.
As a consequence your Emira order has been delayed and is now scheduled for production in Q2 of 2024. I understand this is disappointing to hear, and apologise for the frustration and disappointment I am sure you are feeling.
Whilst the Lotus team are committed to delivering your Emira First Edition, we appreciate circumstances may change. If you would like to discuss your options with us or have any other questions, please contact our dedicated Lotus Customer Care Centre, you can contact them by responding to this email, calling 03300 948 047.

Note that this email was only sent to UK customers. ROW did not receive it. What that means is yet to be determined.
Last month on a lark i placed a deposit on a 911 Carrera T with a 2 year wait and was planning on cancelling when my Emira arrived. Now it is looking more like a horse-race

Sounds like your dealer doesn’t deserve your business

The dealer in this case is Lotus UK!

Had the same email over the weekend, I have a member of staff who is ex Lotus and he still keeps in contact with friends there. I had heard that this was coming but I don't know if I wish to wait for 2 years from ordering the car.

Ask your friend for an ETA on USA deliveries for me. ;)

I see no choice but to invade UK. "We are here to help Lotus, because inside every Emira there is a Mustang trying to get out. It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this supply chain craziness blows over."

Interesting that, despite my car currently having a Q1 2024 date now, I've been rung by Customer Services today with a cancellation for Jan '23 delivery. It's not close enough to my spec for me to want this - hopefully someone else on here will get the opportunity to have it. It's a Magma car, btw.

Can you confirm that again? You ordered a V6 - told Q1 2024 delivery - and they call you and ask if you want a Magma car 1 year early? Did I get that right?

Ordered 14 months ago - V6 manual in Magma. Initially was down for early 2023 and the recent email put me back to Q1 2024. They call with an offer of taking a car with a defined, no negotiable spec, with delivery in Jan since there’s been a cancellation. So, depending on which email from Lotus CS I choose, it’s either 6 months late, or 12 months early.
In a nutshell, yes, you’re right!

wow - well that is interesting.... looks like the collecting cars debacle is causing havoc amongst the flippers and order cancellations. They just realized there is no money to be made. ROW allocations to increase IMO. Hopefully you will get another e-mail "soon" pushing your delivery ahead to this summer.

I don't count one car as "havoc", but I'm sure there will be a flurry of cancellations this week as a result of speculators deciding to pull out. Possibly also some people who might have been pushing themselves financially but thought there would be enough value in the car to run it for 3-6 months and sell without a loss.

I am surprised, though, that they are having to go as far down the queue as Q1 2024 to offer someone a cancelled car. And that it's not a very close match on spec. I wonder how many people earlier in the queue were offered it before that and declined it? Some of the concerns about quality of the early cars may be influencing people to wait at their current position in line.
