Jogon Automotive is working on some carbon fiber bits for the Emira. They already have some sideview mirror covers and a prototype engine cover for the i4. I believe they are also looking into making one for the V6 as well as rear intake vents.

I’ve been chatting with Lynne from Jogon. She tells me they currently don’t have engine surround covers for the V6 in the pipeline but are willing to develop one if 10 people commit.

Group buy pricing would be $760 with shipping. She tells me retail would be $1000 or so. They would require a deposit of $300 and development + production would take about 2 months.

Nice find. I was hoping someone would eventually introduce a carbon fibre engine for the i4 to replace the rather bland factory item. I look forward to fitting one of these some time

How did you learn about the engine cover and the vents? Currently only the mirror caps are listed on the site.

yeah I've seen that thread but not my cup of tea. Not a fan of dipping or vinyl wrapping something to make it look like something it isn't

The irony of literally adding more weight to make something look lighter-weight has always made me chuckle.

... well, there's also irony to be had if a dipped plastic part is actually sometimes lighter than a carbon part

I will definitely be interested in a 'nicer looking' engine cover, possibly real carbon fiber, or possibly something painted / hydro-dipped (though not fake carbon fiber for me).

Will be interesting to see how many full carbon fiber parts come out (not just stick-on covers).

I was actually interested in getting these until I saw the picture in the top right corner. Something just doesn’t look quite right, and I’m guessing it’s because being stuck on top of the OEM mirror cap raises it. Or it could just be the picture lol.

It's because these are basically a toupee for your mirrors. They will never look like an actual carbon fiber mirror. Someone needs to make a proper replacement mirror housing out of carbon fiber.
