My Specs:
Emira I4
Yes, I am new.
No, I am not affiliated with Beep Away.

As I consider buying a 2026 (with the nanny features), the one feature that will stop me from buying the car is the speed limit sign sensor beeping.
Yes, you can disable it at every start by wading 3 to 4 layers deep in the touchscreen...But...
Having had a stroke a few years ago, I cannot type with my right hand (shaky fingers) nor accurately hit touchscreen buttons.
So, while reading about this feature, I stumbled across a company online called Beep Away that provides codes to flash onto a USB drive that, they say, turns off the sound until you unplug the USB.

Note: I am not posting the link because I am new here and unsure of the rules.

Has anyone heard of / used this product?

Since I watched one being done, I agree completely.
i am sure this is just a switch on/off in the software update. There is this Lotus after-sales portal https://dealerportal.uslotservice.lotuscars.com/login. It does diagnostics on the car. I wonder if that could be used to turn off the options here. Only $20 for an hour and save a 2-hour round trip to the dealer. Thread i found the portal in https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/close-to-dealer-diagnostic-tool-available-to-buy.8871/ and here https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/emirads-diagnostic-programming-interface.6096/

The dealer should be charging only $50 for this service as mentioned; it should only take 15 min, maybe 20min tops.

BMW has software you can load on your PC or an APP and turn on/off many features in the car. It's great.

For those who keep referring to having to "dive deep" into the settings menu to silence the annoying beep, I thought I would publish these two pictures showing how incredibly fast and easy it is to eliminate it on every start-up.

The first picture is the screen one gets immediately upon starting the car. On the upper left-hand side of the screen, there is a downward arrow. Tap that.

The second picture shows the screen one gets after tapping the start-up screen arrow. You'll see a menu item called "Traffic Sign Recognition" with the left bar in white. Tap that and the right side turns white. That turns off the beep.

Two taps and no deep dive required. I'm not going to bother having the software flash done, it's so inconsequential.

It also puts a warning on the dashboard and yes you can turn rhat off, or "ok" it, then it still leaves an exclamation warning light on your dash.

It is annoying, more so for "quick turn offs of the key like at a gas station or convenience store or rest stop. "First start" it's easy to remember, after that.. just annoying.

But at the price quoted, I'll be wearing little spots on my center screen.. really wish I had taken my Emira to LUG where it could've been turned off for FREE.

No, the 2-tap method ONLY turns off the beep, and it does not put the warning triangle on your driver screen. The speed limit sign remains there, and flashes without beeping. My brain has filtered it out, and I barely notice it anymore.

I'm so used to the process now, it has become automatic. It's not worth it to deal with the hassle of taking it to dealer and paying for the software flash. Lane assist is non-intrusive, and the fatigue alert gets turned off with a steering wheel button while my hands are on the wheel.

I have to admit, I am/was lumping the 2 tap method to my total count... more or less of taps, not WHERE I was tapping. Thank you for the pictures and I'll try/likely remember now that you provided the pictures here 🤞
