Anyone in the UK reach out to pure tuning?

I saw an IG story that pure tuning in the UK can unlock and tune the 2022+ A45s amg ecu and cpc module (apparently Mercedes adds an extra module to throw the car into limp mode if the ecu or tcu are tuned without also cracking the cpc). Looks like most tuners for Mercedes, can remote tune the ecu but has to replace the cpc module.

I have been told that Mercedes does throw on extra locks for the engines provided to lotus, but I’m wondering if those extra locks are all contained in the CPC module which would be replaced by these tuners.

Ryan is an owner of a performance shop and racer located in Guangzhou China who has had some custom manufactured parts for his Emira such as adjustable endlinks, sway bars, etc.

Pure tuning was just a shop that popped up when I was searching for A45s amg tuners that could tune 2022+ models because apparently 2022+ and onward couldn’t be tuned. The A45s amg uses the same engine, not sure if the c43 also uses the same, I’ve seen it referenced as the m139L variant (no idea what that means)

I’ve been conversing with pure tuning and they are asking for a picture of the ECU. If anyone has a picture of the ecu including the label/sticker that would be great. (Currently heading back to the states, not home yet)

If Ryan has also unlocked the ecu, then more the merrier and I hope this opens up the appeal of this car to more people!

I reached out to them - they said some they can unlock some they can't you need to send them a picture of ECU label to ascertain this. Shame it a faff to get to the ECU. If people are happy to share their ECU labels it'd be interesting to get an idea what proportion they can unlock

Oh yea, you mentioned Ryan was able to unlock it right? Any timeline for when it’ll be commercially available? Next time I’ll be back in China is Chinese new years.

When it comes to the AMG M139 engines (A45s, CLA45s, etc. 2022+) there’s a lot of confusion online, so here’s the reality:

Mercedes-AMG (A45s / CLA45s 2022+)​

• Starting from 2022, Mercedes introduced much stronger security on their ECUs.
• In addition to the Bosch MG1 ECU, there’s also the CPC (Central Powertrain Controller).
• The CPC constantly monitors the ECU and TCU, and if it detects unauthorized changes, it will force the car into limp mode.
• Some tuners advertise solutions, but in most cases what’s really happening is a CPC replacement with a pre-modified or virgin unit, which then allows the ECU to be tuned remotely.
• As of today, the only tool that actually supports unlocking some of these newer Mercedes units is bFlash.

Lotus Emira i4 (AMG M139 engine)​

• For the Emira, Bosch/Mercedes went even further by adding an additional security layer on top of the standard MG1 ECU protection.
• This goes beyond the CPC, meaning that even if the CPC were replaced, the Emira ECU itself remains locked.
• To date, as far as the global tuning community is aware, nobody has successfully unlocked the Emira i4 ECU.
• Not CMD, not Autotuner, and not even bFlash — the only company with partial progress on Mercedes — has a solution for the Emira at this moment.

In summary:

• Mercedes AMG (A45s/CLA45s 2022+): possible with CPC replacement + bFlash for ECU tuning.
• Lotus Emira i4 (M139): Bosch added another protection layer, and no one worldwide has been able to unlock this ECU yet.
