My Specs:
Emira I4
I went from Lotus V6 to McLaren Artura to Lotus 2.0. Drove the turbo Lotus for the first time yesterday and had some interesting impressions that I didn't really expect.
First of all coming from the McLaren I was preparing for a rather dull acceleration experience but was quite pleasantly surprised. Not nearly the same as the McLaren of course, but pretty strong and seemingly more bottom torque than I could recall from the V6. So quite happy with that! The shifting was pretty muted, so understand complaints there, but liveable. Handling and stability was precise but felt kinda airy (weird comment I guess, but just a little loose). The Mclaren was like a slot car, very planted whereas the Lotus just seemed ummm...can't think of the right word here.

The biggest concern was the seating - just felt high and not secure, like i was sitting on the seat and not in it. Maybe that gave me a somewhat uncomfortable sense of the handling? I am definitely getting Tillets (hope GRP reads this - patiently waiting for that Black Friday sale!)

Sound was ok, but definitely will do the aftermarket Mach 5. I have tried to find the appropriate succinct thread on getting rid of the piped in fake sound which I will gladly snip or unplug. Can anyone point me to the final solution here?

I changed seats as fast as I could for the same reasons. The shape of the seat pushes my sternum out in an uncomfortable way. A note on the seat height, my aftermarket seat does sit lower and the Tillet's will be lower as well, but the front bottom of the driver and passenger side windows are lower than what you typically find in a car, it gives the illusion you are higher than you really are. It's subtle but it is adding to that effect. You'll be much happier with the new seats for comfort and support. Also your note on the suspension, whether the sport or touring remember Lotus always designs their stock suspensions to have lots of travel, compliance, and body roll. It's the classic Lotus philosophy of body roll telling you where the grip of the car is - once you change this out to Nitrons/Ohlins, etc. you will find the familiar slot car feeling you are looking for. Or maybe just change the antirollbars -

The window is very low in the door which can make it seem like you are sitting quite high in the car.

In regard to the seats, I found that if I raised the front of the seat a bit, it gave the impression that you were sitting lower because your knees are higher. Certainly not as good as different seats, but it helped a bit.

Will give this a shot. Didn't even know it could do that

By "raised", I meant just using the electronic seat adjustments to raise the front of the seat, while keeping the rear lowered.
