Upgraded Intercooler

I was talking to mach5, which makes the downpipe that a lot of people in Asia use for their emiras and they said they could ship me the Snowtech intercooler when I’m back in the states but I would have to deal with customs and they weren’t sure how much customs would charge. In the meantime I have ordered the post intercooler charge pipe with meth bunge via mach5 and will bring it back to the US in my luggage since it’s small.

It might be worth reaching out to aerie performance to see if they can handle shipping and customs for you for Snowtech stuff since they are familiar with shipping to the US.

Awesome! I'll ask Jason about eta for times and stuff. Are you planning on meth also? I spoke at length with my shop they are thinking it'll be fine to place the nozzle pre intercooler since there is lots of length there for the spray to atomize and not pool at the bottom of the intercooler. Weistec wrote me back and said same thing my shop did, which is the intercooler goes straight into the intake manifold and because of the sensors right there the nozzle has to go on the other side.
We did talk about making a sandwich plate by the throttle assembly but the issue here is it would be post temp sensor and the car wouldn't see the actual intake air temps. We also spoke about direct injection to each cylinder but same issue, the sensors wouldn't see the drop in temps. I don't like that we won't be getting direct or closer spray to clean the valves and cylinder heads but we'll get all the other benefits. Everything is mostly already installed on my car, just waiting for a few bits and plan is to tune end of next week.

Long term I don't like those plastic end tanks, and although the PA66 glass filled plastic should be able to withstand corrosion from the methanol over time - it might have stress from heat and cooling expansion and contraction from being sprayed and not sprayed. Anyways much better to get full aluminum. There *might be enough length to put the nozzle on the SnowTech 2nd end tank way at the bottom, don't know if the spray would be far enough from the tmap sensor though.

Looking at the jb4 install guide, I am doubting there is room at all to mount any nozzles in the Snowtech intercooler bungs but I could be wrong.

Definitely share where you end up placing the second nozzle, everything seems to be plastic around the intake manifold though again I think you could make a sandwich plate somewhere.
