Per request from other threads ,starting this thread for those that PICKED up their Lotus Emira (i.e. have TAKEN Delivery in the USA [North America]) and have the car in their possession.

The first USA delivery was Monday March 4, 2024 (from what I gather).

Post your pics below (if you want) and congrats on actually having your Emira in your possession!

P.S. I pick mine up on 3/8/24 and will post a picture later (getting PPF).

Nimbus with lower black pack, black wheels with silver calipers and Grey Alcantara. I'm in love.

Picked up from Vegas on March 8th. Drove back to Montana with my son (1200 miles). Fun trip.

The dark gray one on the right is the Emira :)

View attachment 38875Beautiful. Which one handles better honestly? I bet you say the GT3RS, but I heard the Emira is a very close comparison and at a 1/3rd the cost at least. Tell me your honest opinion.

My 992 GT3RS was 5X the price of the Emira.

Here is my honest assessment:

GT3 and GT3RS +
  • Throttle response
  • Lighter and more nimble
  • Headroom
  • Quality
  • MMI speed and stability
  • nine thousand rpm
  • Does not look like a Corvette Z06
  • Flat 6 sound with JCR Ti pipes
  • Panel gap fit and finish
Emira +
  • British (I am a brit)
  • More fun - almost disposable relative to a $499K GT3RS
  • More modern looking design
  • Excellent hydraulic steering
  • Elevated perspective
  • Aerie exhaust ordered - will report back on sound

The Emira gear box vs GT3 - Emira has the edge.

My cars in order of performance:
  1. 992 GT3RS
  2. 992 GT3
  3. 488
  4. Emira
  5. Audi R8 V10 Manual
  6. Golf R
  7. Ford F150

My cars in order of fun:
  1. 992 GT3
  2. Emira
  3. Golf R
  4. 992 GT3RS
  5. 488
  6. Audi R8
  7. Ford F150

Very thorough explanation. I knew the GT3RS would win over, but I didn't realize it is 5x the cost. My friend has 1 and he said he got it for 300k but that was years ago, and has 6 other Porsche's and pre covid, so of course all prices went up. I am glad the Emira is your 2nd most fun car to drive. You have a great car collection.

The Lotus gearbox is incredible. 3rd to 4th...

One more feature I forgot to mention is rev matching. Porsche has a pre-selector detector. Emira only has a post-selector detector. This was a huge disappointment.

Everything else such as PASM...etc... is not worth a hill of beans.
