They have regular salaried staff that are responsible for PR that chose not to say anything. Why would they be subtle and “pay someone” to say what @rotate shared with us?

It's also unlikely that they would ship the bulk of the Canadian cars through a US port. Just too messy a process. They have enough cars being made for the Canadian market that it would make more sense to import via a Canadian port like Halifax, St. John, or even Montreal.

You'd think so, but that's how Ferrari does it, all CAD cars go to NJ before coming here. Lambo goes through Halifax however

Nah. If Lotus could get their acts together to actually take to social media to solve issues with angsty buyers through astroturfing, they could have a long time ago dealt with proper communications with dealers and buyers.

I'm going to the factory in a few weeks. I have no doubt that the people building the cars love what they do and are very passionate about it. In my personal communications with people there they've been very professional, helpful, and even empathetic.

At the same time, on an organizational level they can't find their ass with either hand to file paperwork in a timely manner, keep dealers and buyers informed, or follow through on planned platform expansions (bespoke). What they can do is send out condolences gifts to a portion of those inconvenienced, roll out a roadside assistance program for those they know will be inconvenienced in the future, and brow beat a parts supplier.

Every EV maker other than Tesla would probably disagree with that (since they're all either already bankrupt, taking massive losses, or on the verge of going under since only Tesla has turned it into a profitable business). I'm sure Lotus will extend the life of the ICE version of the Emira beyond what they've stated.
